Worst offseason move was signing Wallace

Go watch highlights of Wallace in Pittsburgh. He is rarely hit in stride on deep TDs. He usually has to slow and adjust for the football.

Problem is, he's flat out blown it when he's had chances this season. You see one bad underthrow from Tannehill on a weird (as CK pointed out) play action draw play with funky timing and people are ****ing freaking out over it.

Problem ain't just the QB, just like it ain't just the WR.

Before I get hounded hear me out. Mike Wallace is a very good reciever, but not for this offense. We are a meat and potatoes, grind the ball offense. Short passes nothing more than 15 yards. Though it was exciting getting someone like Wallace, he is not what we need. This offense needs what we had in Brandon Marshall ( that type of star). Wallace is on the wrong team he shouldn't have left Pitt. He needs to be on a team where he isn't double covered and has a guy who takes pressure off of him. The reason we never progress is Our GM doesn't understand what kind of team we have and therefore, Doesn't bring in the correct talent, Or draft the correct talent. Now I think Dion Jordan is going to be an amazing player. But we shouldn't have drafted him. We do not need D Line depth. We should have given the money to solai and lock him up. Not drafting a OT was a huge mistake and we all know that. There were a lot of wr's like Keenan allen and rob woods who we could have gotten in 2 and 3 rounds. We always draft these small school receivers who rarely pan out and never take chances on Guys who went to big schools and fall. Like the above noted and missing on a fb like honey badger, which I know a lot of you bloggers wanted.
Let the blasting begin. Ireland is a problem and needs to go. He is an average GM who doesn't understand how to put a team together.

Brandon Marshall's first 10 games, he also had a grand total of 1 touchdown.

The difference is not having Big Ben behind center. Big Ben is one of the best DEEP BALL passer's ever to play QB in the NFL. Not many people realize how much of a difference that makes for the offense Miami runs. I wasn't on board with signing Wallace, but understood the reason's for signing him. My biggest problem with Wallace is his drops and his diva attitude. I'll admit the attitude has been held in check so far while in Miami. He's dropped about a dozen passes so for this year many of which looked to be from a lack of concentration and killed drives. But in spite of his drops and my doubts about him, he's played within the system, which allows his presence to open up other opportunities for the other players. Eventually there will be a few long ball opportunities that are successful. But this is not Pitt and Big Ben here in Miami, I'm hopeful somehow Tannehill can make those deep connections he's missed so far. Once that starts to happen the offense should become a lot harder to defend.

Keeping Marshall with a young raw QB would not have worked here. Marshall got his bus ticket out of town, when he started yelling at Henne on the sideline during games. Now replace Henne with Tannehill, and you have 'bullying' on your at hands.:ponder:

I love how people here try to re write history, to make their points. Marshall wasn't successful here, because it was about him. No one else, just him. He is happy in CHI because he gets a majority of the targets from a QB who has history and chemistry with him. Tannehill has history and chemistry with Hartline, its why when things get hairy, you know where Tannehill is going with the football.

As for Wallace, he opens up the field for others. If you people don't see that, than take off the hater glasses. Clay would by pedestrian without Wallace clearing out 2 defenders. Give Wallace the rest of the season, and a offseason with Tannehill before making such judgments.

I just have to say that the decoy effect can't be underestimated.
If he made 5 key plays in the next 6 games and we make the playoffs, he's worth every penny.

The story is yet to be told.

Keep this thread going long enough and people will be claiming that Wallace would have 20 TDs if it weren't for under throws by Tannehill.

Face it, Wallace makes no adjustments to balls in the air. Watch other receivers in Wallace's pay grade adjust then go up and get the ball. Does Tannehill need to hit some of those? Sure. But Wallace has to play like a #1 WR or he is robbing the Fins. Check out Calvin Johnson's 79 yard TD yesterday. The pass was way under thrown. He slowed down, caught the ball, then shrugged off a tackle and walked into the end zone. Wallace would not make that play.

Hell, AJ Green was actually waiting in the end zone on a end of the game hail Mary pass. Where was Wallace on his? At the 12 yard line....

If the TE was healthy and playing it would be completely different.

It's a shame because he would have been huge in this offense. Look at what Clay is doing, just imagine what Keller would have done

Top 5 worst offseason moves, in my opinion:

1. Signing Philip Wheeler
2. Not Signing Bryant McKinnie
3. Not Signing Greg Jennings
4. Not Signing Reggie Bush
5. Signing Tyson Clabo. Combined with not signing McKinnie... disaster at the tackle position.

Honorable Mention: not moving on from Richie Incognito like they wanted to.

I honestly don't even think Mike Wallace cracks that list. He is a good player IF HE IS USED PROPERLY. He is not being used properly. Coaching.

Disagree on Clabo...I doubt anyone thought he would be this bad...most thought he was going to be an upgrade over Martin on the right side. The #5 worst off season move should be not having upgraded either Guard position in the off season. We wanted to upgrade from Incognito and Jerry since neither could move and get to the second level and we failed at both spots.

Come to think of it your right. Against Tampa last week on the game ending INT, Wallace just stood there watching as the ball was intercepted. I was screaming for him to come back a few feet to catch the ball. That is something I noticed about him as well. Thanks for pointing it out.

First of all Tanny has no time. His in accuracy is due to the lack of an OL. Tanny is very good and like any qb when you have protection, he can be great. Let's see what he can do when he's not in the top 10 of most sacked qb's. Tnny is not the problem.

You really do not need a lot of time for the deep ball. Most of the time needed for the route is ate up on the drop and the time the ball is in the air. Manning last night showed this several times. His ball is out quick and the throws are deep balls too. When you don't see over the top help on Wallace let the ball go and let him run. If you over throw Wallace you over throw the D and no harm occurs.

I wasn't saying we needed Marshall. I was saying the type of receiver Marshall is is what we need. A 6'4 who can go across middle and also go deep a big boddied star not a 6'1 vertical route runner

You can't compare manning to Tanny. If you look what Wallace did in Pitt, that was a result of Big Ben scrambling and extending the play. Not because he had all day to throw.

the whole o has been wildly inconsistent, sherman sucks and wallace only tries when he feels like it.
