The worst part of Randy Moss retiring is no matter what station I watch, either national or local, I see stock footage of Randy Moss destroying Jason Allen from a few years ago. I was shocked how many plays can be shown from one game with Allen getting used up.

Remember the idea to defend him was to play Allen one on one with him? Come on Coach P.

Anyways, that is my attempt at humor.

yep and Sean Smith couldn't beat Allen out. Which is why I am not all giddy about Sean Smith entering this season

In fairness though, your talking bout a HOF Wideout in Moss, he's burned a hell of a lot better CB's than Jason Allen (including Vontae Davis).

Think the reason Allan was put on him was because they thought he could physically match him.

And when they switch gears and talk about Braylon Edwards, they show Jason Allen getting destroyed by him on that long touchdown in Miami last year. Aka the play that derailed our season.

I don't understand....You're going to miss Moss because you can't see video clips of him beating Jason Allen anymore? Or is it because you will CONTINUE to see clips of him beating Jason Allen?

This is close to being one of the most inane thread topics I've ever seen here...and there have been a lot of those.

Didn't on one of those plays Renaldo Hill tear something? Yea that first Pats/Fins game in 2007 was absolutely dreadful.

If Sean Smith actually learns to catch a football, he will be just fine. I think he dropped at least 5 easy interceptions last year.

That was a motivation tactic more than anything else . . . that and the fact that Jason Allen seemed to do a better job of making plays on the ball (not counting his liability of course). Smith was having a bad preseason, but once he got his feet wet . . . he dominated. Let's not discredit his progress for what was a few early struggles . . . which is why it is laughable that everybody is making rash judgements on players 4 practices in. Everybody wanted Smith gone before the season started and he ended the season with I believe the 2nd best coverage stats in the league.

The worst part about Moss retiring is that JJ didn't draft him and pair him with Marino to begin with. Those two would have unleashed carnage on the league, oh well :(

By Moss retiring, stock footage of him making plays have been all over the TV. Jason Allen is in those clips making us have to relive how bad he was....did I clear that up for you?

Someone might have to correct me with proper details, but if memory serves me correctly I believe we traded down that year because Jimmy didn't think Moss would be around, and that was the only player he was really targeting at their initial pick. Of course he was, but we had traded the pick by then.

to late in dans career for that to truly take off. could have been some magic though for a short time.

Unfortunately in every highlight reel, the media makes sure to include the Fins.
