What say you about Nick Collins? just saw an article that says he's hungry to play again. We need a safety this year, either draft or FA, and Clemons is a FA as well. Maybe not start, but would you say he's a cheap, viable back up with some potential to start?

With the type of severe neck injury he had, it's just worth too much risk...for us and for himself. I don't think he should risk it, personally. Another bad hit and not only could his career be over but his life may never be the same.

I think backup free safeties usually play special teams. I don't know if a veteran like Collins is going to accept that role.

If he checked out medically, why not see him through training camp?

This team can't turn down the opportunity to look under any rock...

If im not mistaken this guys was pretty good before the injury. If medically cleared why not sign in. He most likely will be cheaper and sign for nothing garenteed and see him through camp and if it doesnt pan out no loss to the team.

You can sign him but this would be an ULTRA risky sign. I don't know if you want to give him another shot after a scary injury like the one he had.

of course hes hungry to play, he needs to think long term though. He was great while he was palying but i worry he wont be able to come back. Last thing we need to for him to get injured in practice and remain paralyzed. If he is medically cleared (which i read some docs didnt give him the green light) he should work his way back slowly.

The superbowl showed us how important the safety position has become. Clemons is solid but we need some speed, ballhawking, and some hitting out of them. Jones is a good coverage safety, but we need someone offenses have to account for.

Sign Byrd and be done with the playmaking S position for a few damn years..

It would be great, and would love it but I can't imagine there will be enough money to sign him. Grimes and the O line will be priorities. Can't fill everything at once. I would get used to Clemons and maybe they draft a project in the mid to late rounds.

I want a player like seattles Chancellor. That man is a beast. Any guys like him in this draft? He makes an impact.
