would jake long take a pay cut?

Lol.. if you were one of the best at your job, would you take A payout.. I wouldn't.. and I wouldn't blame Jake if he doesn't

He should, no offensive lineman should make more than 5 million per year, this would be my offer, 5 years 25 million 15 guarantee, take it or GTFO.
i agree. i would probly give him a little more, but he hasnt been healthy in two years. thats not worth as much as he wants

Amazing to me after seeing what a aweful right tackle will do to your offense now people
want to get rid of Jake Long, one of the best Left tackles in the game. When the QB
is getting blind sided, don't blame Ireland then.

nobody said get rid of him, we just want him not to eat our cap

Except for the elite few, offensive lineman are too inconsistent. You never know when they are going to get lazy, have weight problems. When they might take a play off. Our best bet is to have a bunch of hungry 3rd round type guys and have them compete. The exception is LT. Edge rushers are faster and stronger than ever. You don't want Von Miller going against anything less than elite talent or your QB is in trouble. So while I agree with the statement that Oline shouldnt make more than 5 mil, I think LT is the exception to that and we need to pay jake.

Offer 90mil for 7yrs, if he does;nt take it trade his ass, and im a big jake fan.............

No way should we ask him and no way should he say yes if asked.... He's arguably THE best LT in the NFL when he's 100% healthy and he's one of the best LT in the NFL when he's not 100%

He will get franchised next year. I dont think he will be offered the highest LT contract. He will get an average of the top five or be franchised.

Jason Smith took a paycut to remain on the team, not to help them out. He's been a huge bust since entering the league
Exactly. Jason Smith has been a huge flop. Thats the reason he took the pay cut. Jake long is the complete opposite and if I recall correctly, a few months ago he stated he wanted to test the free agent market....

This could only mean one of 2 things....either Long is driving up the price for a new contract, or he simply wants out of Miami...therefore, asking him to help out the team may be completely out of the question
