Assuming he's healthy and playing at the level we've come to expect from him my question is if Miami signs Peyton Manning would we really be a better team with this roster and a couple of FA and draft signings than the Colts were the past 8 years? I think any team with a healthy Peyton Manning is a SB contender but would our defense and playmakers on O be good enough to win us a SB? I'm really not so sure we would be but then the X factor of having Peyton on this team and every player on the roster knowing they have a chance to win a championship could make everyone play better.

Thoughts...?

Possible so, which is prett exciting. I do think Miami will have some significant losses on the defensive line since it will be very difficult to sign Paul Solai and Kendall Lankford. The Dolphins probably lose both creating a draft need that wasn't there before. Might be hard to put all the pieces together, but with great qb play a super bowl run would be possible.

Yea, I feel if they can add Nelson at FS and get a good pass rusher in the draft then this defense will be better than it has the last couple of years though. Nelson would be an upgrade at S and all the front 7 really needs is another pass rusher. They'd also need depth at LB though because if any of the 3 LB's went down we'd be screwed. I don't think the loss of Solai hurts much if they really are switching to a 4-3 because he's more of a NT than anything and I think Starks and Odrick would make a very good DT tandem in a 4-3.

The Colts team was actually very bad the last couple of years. Peyton was keeping them respectable. It happens when you pick in the late 20's for 8-10 years. It happened to the Dolphins when Dan was our QB.
Right now, the Fins are very ready to compete for the division. We have a couple of holes to fill, but so do all teams.
We have stars in Marshall and Bush, plus a top 5 defense. Our special teams and kicking game are among the best.
Miami is clearly a better team than the Colts, QB aside.
