Would The Dolphins AFCE Rivalry Be Changed if Bills move to LA?

Buffalo's future is in Toronto. Heck, the Canadian soccer federation put out an infographic on its 2026 World Cup bid that shows the final being played in Toronto in an "NFL stadium" proposed to open in 2020.

Jacksonville's future is in London, although it may be a bit murky. The Jaguars' owner also owns the Fulham soccer team, and the recent buzz is that Tottenham Hotspur is redesigning its new stadium to be able to accommodate an NFL team as an alternative to Wembley Stadium, which the NFL currently uses for its London games.

The Los Angeles team will either come from Oakland, St. Louis, or San Diego, although the new mayor of San Diego is reopening talks with the Chargers on a downtown stadium there.

I doubt that there will be a team in london. the week to week logistics would be a nightmare.
California can not support the Raiders and Chargers...why would they also need a LA team.
I really makes no sense. The demographic in LA is soccer, not American football.

Then you would have to move Dallas to the south, Carolina to the east, Indy to the north, Cincy to the south, Houston to the west , Kansas City to the south. Too much needs to happen for everything to be geographical correct, just leave it be.

If it was 100% geographical, it would look something like this:

Conference 1

East
• Buffalo Bills
• New England Patriots
• New York Giants
• New York Jets

North
• Cincinnati Bengals
• Indianapolis Colts
• Cleveland Browns
• Pittsburgh Steelers

South
• Atlanta Falcons
• Jacksonville Jaguars
• Miami Dolphins
• Tampa Bay Buccaneers

West
• Arizona Cardinals
• Denver Broncos
• Kansas City Chiefs
• St. Louis Rams

Conference 2

East
• Baltimore Ravens
• Carolina Panthers
• Philadelphia Eagles
• Washington Redskins

North
• Chicago Bears
• Green Bay Packers
• Detroit Lions
• Minnesota Vikings

South
• Dallas Cowboys
• Houston Texans
• New Orleans Saints
• Tennessee Titans

West
• Oakland Raiders
• San Diego Chargers
• San Francisco 49ers
• Seattle Seahawks

If the Bills move to LA they would likely be moved from the AFC East. What team do you think might be the replacement?

A move for the Bills is speculative for sure but seeing as Fins news is slow right now thought it might be interesting to consider.

If the Bills leave, just put Jacksonville in our division...that's two gimme wins a year.

It would seeing as how LA isn't in the East. It would be unfair to both teams to have to travel to each location across the country.

not really. why would you have to switch the conference for some teams? you can stay geographically close and keep teams in the same conference.

that wasn't the goal there. was just showing what divisions would look like if based only on geography and also keeping time zones in mind. conferences were not a consideration.

With our luck it would be Baltimore, Pitt or Indy

Probably Indy. They are likely to have a good QB for a long time, the NFL hates the Dolphins, they probably wouldn't break up rivalries like Pitt in the North or any of the NFC East. The Colts actually were a rival for a long time and that is still probably bigger than anything they've started in that division.

It would be nice to play the Bills out in CA and have them travel back for 1PM games.

La can gave a fan base for anything. It's big and diverse.

They messed up on the last realignment....

AFC should have been Miami in the South, Indy the North, & Baltimore in the East
NFC idea 1) swap Dallas & Carolina or 2) Dallas to the West, St Louis to the South, & Panthers to the East

Dolphins should have been realigned to AFC South years ago (imo)

That's a relevant thought if you're looking at the map directionally. But, when an owner has a division that includes New York and Boston ... why on earth would he trade that for the far less lucrative market of Indianapolis and Tennessee? It's like trading a Rolls Royce for a Hyundai ... it just makes no sense. Any owner worth a darn would fight that as fiercely as possible because financially, that is Armageddon. Miami is in one of two divisions in the NFL that are super-lucrative and allow us to finance stuff, and attract free agents. The other division is the NFC East, and unless you can get Washington to leave, that's not happening ... and a snowball has a better chance than Washington leaving.

One possible bright spot if they moved us to the South - we wouldn't have to worry about the New Yawkers and Bostonian transplants taking over our stadium during "home" games. Might be a few more empty seats but once we start to win games that will take care of itself.
