Fisrt of all, the situation:

Rams may or may not be for sale. In a time of question and instability they probably aren't going after high priced FA's, sale or no sale.

Rams are not bringing back Bulger and Boller is a FA and he stinks. Rams have no QB.

Rams have huge holes and weaknesses all over their team.

Apart from some miracle they aren't going to win another game.

Rookies aren't going to be enough to return this team to respectability.
They need several starting caliber experienced NFL players. Where can they get such players in the uncapped year when free agency is extremely limited???

Perhaps, from the Dolphins in a multi-player trade involving low cost prospects and a few quality players and draft picks in exchange for draft position changes.

Say the Dolphins end up with the 15 th pick, right in the middle of it. It's only 14 picks to the 1st but dayamm! those little increments are expensive.

Maybe something like this:

QB's Pat White,Tyler Thigpen, Andrew Gardner LT,Reggie Torbor and Charlie Anderson LB's ,TE Kory Sperry and DT's Phillip Merling and Kendall Langford.
Remember Ram's don't really have a QB. That rookie they played last week was beyond awful. Andrew Gardner has recieved some pretty high praise at times by the Dolphins brass. He may win the LT job over there. He obviously has no shot here. Both Torbor and Anderson were OLB's in a 4-3 prior to coming to the Dolphins. Either one would be a vast improvement over Paris Lenon. DE Leonard Little is 35 and a FA. Merling would start at DE as would Langford at DT. All the Rams TE's are FA's and they all stink.

You would think five veteran starters would be enough but they would probably want our 2011 1st as well so I would throw in that and our 2010 3rd but we change draft positions in both the 1st and 2nd round.

Ram's give up nothing but a few positions in the draft which may amount to nothing, and gain the universe on a platter. They win the freakin lottery!

Dolphins acquire the 1st pick in the draft and sign the future Hall of Famer, Ndamakong Suh, official "World Beater" in early April. And with the 1st pick in the 2nd round the Dolphins grab either Jermaine Gresham TE or CJ Spiller RB, because one of them is going to slide. Hopefully the TE who is in IMO the best prospect since Vernon Davis.

Dolphins would have to sign a veteran backup at QB and probably draft a QB in a late round. I like Rusty Smith.
Dolphins still have Starks,Mcdaniels,Dotson,Alama-Francis,Baker and now Suh at DE. Merling and Langford would not be missed. Dolphins would have to find LB's in the middle rounds.

Is it worth it??? How could it be done better???

I just think Suh is on a different level and I'm really sick of not ever having a good TE. Have the Dolphins ever had an all-pro TE?

So you say the Rams don't have a QB and you're offering Pat White ?

They'll just draft Clausen.

This isn't Madden dude.. Deals like you propose don't happen in this day and age in the NFL. Especially when the proposal is quantity for quality.

You can't just throw a bunch of no-name 2nd and 3rd stringers then toss in one average starter at DE and expect to get the #1 overall pick.

What the hell were you thinking ?

Or drinking ?

8 players traded to move up 14 spots??? Are you insane?? If ever a trade is made to move up spots..it would be for future picks. But don't worry about this kind of scenario since it will NEVER happen. I guess you're starting your holiday drinking early.

Besides the fact that it's an absurd trade idea. The number one spot really isn't a favored draft pick anymore. Just because of the fact that the number one draft picks always want WAY too much money for unproven talent.

Don't get me wrong, I am all for tading for talent we need, but not at that kind of a cost.

I had to read that twice. No way would i give up what you suggest to have the 1st pick plus salary for 2010.

White - as much as I hated the pick, is staying put. He was drafted by parcells, and will get more chances to show what he has.

Thigpen may be an option, but that depends on CP coming back as a backup to CH. CP may even be traded to the Rams. God knows they need a decent QB to lead a team, and even if they draft Clausen, which they should do, he has to learn like CH did. CP is worth maybe a 3rd rounder, but more likely a 4th.

Gardner will stay as a backup unless we grab someone in the draft. but I still think he stays.

Torbor & Anderson - they can go, and take Crowder with them. I would package 2 of these 3 without any hesitation for a 3rd or 4th round pick.

Merling & Langford...now the original post got real silly. They are staying. And for a few more years too. Stupid suggestion that....

Seriously, i'd rather trade up to 10th maybe & try to get Terrence Cody.

I really do hate all 'trade idea' posts but this is probably the dumbest I've ever read.

Why would we trade literally half of our squad away to get one position sorted? And that one position would be seriosuly overpaid anyway. f we wanted to do that, we coulda just signed Haynesworth last year. Look where that got Washington...

I've joked about it in the past but really, SERIOUSLY, can we not start a new forum for trade ideas? Then, all of these weirdos that like to discuss crazy, unrealistic trades could all gather in the same place and not have to annoy all the right-minded people.

OK except don't give up our 1st or Langford, Merling, Thigpen, Gardner and only then if we can trade that 1st overall for two 1sts and a high 2nd. Then we trade one of our three 1sts for two 2nds, two 3rds, three 4ths and a partridge in a pear tree.

Cp wont be traded he will be a free agent... lol

We really did not want the first pick when we had it...

We did get a stud... Why would we move up to get who?

This scenario might have some credence if Mike Ditka was running our show; otherwise it's a little far-fetched. Suh looks like a monster but weren't all the touts singing Dorsey's praises too a few drafts ago?

WTF? Someone move this thread to the gaming forum since this guy was obviously playing Madden when he made this.

Isn't the first thing you do to improve a bottom feeder team is improve the overall talent. Meaning improve your back ups so that you can cushion a blow of a major injury. I think BP and JI did that really well seeing that we've had major injuries both years but instead of dropping dead we've lived to fight on. You would destroy that in one move, Superbowl champions are built with depth not just talented starters. I'm all for making a move to improve this club but not to rip apart the core of this team.

Suh maybe great he may not but St'Lou desperately needs a future stud QB and Olineman. I think they would go in a different direction then your proposal, and I don't think it would even be considered by our FO.

Would be giving up far too much for just one player and a rookie at that.

we should just trade Ginn for tight end Billy Bajama and draft 5 linebackers so we dont end up with another Eddie Moore.
