would this idea work for us?

it seems to me that we have gone through 20 qbs since Marino retired and with a really good qb like Chase Daniels graduating this year why not do this.

#1 get our oline in tip top shape and bring in another vet olineman.

#2 cut Beck and let Henne and Mcnow battle it out and bring in another vet qb for depth.

#3 bring in 2 more wrs for a look.

#4 draft qb Chase Daniels if it looks like we will be piss poor at qb this year.

#5 or lets just trade for a qb like Matt Flynn greenbay cant keep all those qbs and if i were them i would trade matt flynn because they have Rodgers , Brohmn , Farve , and Flynn.

certainly not before we have seen him in a few preseason games.

If u say that, then u obviously have an agenda against Beck . . . because all 3 QB's haven't looked great.
 
Chase Daniel is a 5'11 to 6ft pudgy guy playing in a spread offense, so Im going to have to say that idea wont work for us. :rolleyes2: btw, what has Matt Flynn done that would have you think he would be any good? The guy was mediocre in college, and has done nothing but warm a bench in the NFL. How does that put us any farther ahead?
 
I hated the Henne Pick, I wish we drafted MLB, but anyways Chase Daniel is way kind of small to be a "Parcells Guy'' but I think chase daniel is a really good qb.
 
I don't think we will be drafting any quarterbacks in the high rounds anytime soon. Beck is struggling badly right now and it is possible he may not be the QB for the long term. Though, no preseason games have been played and TC is only a week old. Way to soon to write him off yet.

If Beck continues not to pan out, I really think we have something special in Chad Henne. He is already starting to prove his worth in Training Camp. Of course he has had his ups and downs, but that is to be expected from a rookie still making the transition from the college game to the pros.

If a QB is drafted by this team in next year's draft, it likely won't be until the end of the second day as they try and find someone to compete for the #3 guy.

I think the search for our first legitimate starter since Dan Marino finally ends with Chad Henne.

* I agree, we could use a (good) vet O-line man,

* Disagree Beck & Henne both have potential & one if not both will come thru for us. Way too early to talk about cutting either of them.

* We're "Re-buildinng" & have youth & potential in our WR corps. It's going to take them a while to mesh. And it doesn't sound like any are having bad camps. Ginn (speed), Hagan (size + 3rd year breakout), Bess (superglue hands) & Foster (super speed). And you need a vet WR - Wilford (size & good hands). THe chemistry btwn WR & QB will come.

let me modify my statement about beck i dont mean to say cut him now I meant if he doesnt improve at the end of the season then cut him. Flynn did more then beck did in college but i will give Beck some more time though . My problem is i feel that Beck got shafted by camoron and the horibkle play calling so i will back off of beck but i am not impressed with him at all but the wrs need to step it up a little bit too.
 
I dont follow college ball so Im just asking this out of being uninformed. Is next drafts QB class projected to being a strong group or even one or two guys projected to transition into the leauge with high expectations?

That I would agree with. If Beck gets his starts & doesn't perform, then I'd give him his papers. As far as Flynn goes, yeah he's got potential as well. Will it evolve in the NFL level? Could be. And we may actually get to see him play this year, because if Favre doesn't come back Flynn may see some time.

The LSU Tigers did more than the BYU Cougers did. LSU won many games last year despite Matt Flynn being their QB. It's kinda like what many people here say about Fiedler when he was here. You would think with all the talent they had on that team, Flynn would have completed more than 56% of his passes.
 
lets see how this pre-season and season brews about, what it shows us, then lets make our decisions!!!

You people are so freaking crazy sometims. Beck had one thing that nobody else had coming into camp. You guys know what that was??? Expectations!!! For some reason everybody thought he was going to come out and look wonderful. Lets look at the fact that they have changed his throwing motion, his offense, his O-Line hasn't really came together, and his recievers are not getting any seperation. Its not like anybody else in camp is going any better than he is, so maybe its not just the QB!!

I'm not saying he has done anything to deserve praise, but dang lets give the guy a few weeks before we start trying to cut him from the team.

Actually, my expectations for Beck going into camp were very low, and yet somehow, he has still managed to disappoint me.
