This was the guy we traded up for, he was gonna improve our O-line, we passed on Vince Wilfork to draft him.

If he's so good how could he do any worse than those clowns we had in there last night?

It seems to me Wilfork would be doing us more good right now plugging that middle than Carey is on the bench.

No kidding -- in hindsight we should've passed on Carey and drafted Wilfork. Or we should've traded the #3 to move up and get Shawn Andrews.

I say play him for sure. What do we have to lose? This O-line ain't getting better by next week anyway.

Play big Vernon it can't get any worse let him learn with the rest of the young guys we have out there.

I am hoping Wanny wakes up and sees how bad this O-Line is and puts Vernon in to get him game experience so he can be a productive starter next year. Sure Wanny may never get to coach him as a good Tackle, but he needs to stop being stuborn.

Last night was the worst offensive line play I have ever seen!! It started making me ill to listen to thiesman replay Wade Smiths mishaps and watch Feeley resort to launching the ball aimlessly in the air... :barf:

Maybe there is a reason Carey is not starting.Like maybe he is not as good as the other guys.I hope its because he has been too slow to learn and not because he is not capable.

Having said that what do we have to lose. The OL is a disaster .Give him a shot.

Yeah I think it's the mental aspect of the game that's slowing him down. There should be no doubt that he's physically better than St. Clair, but will he be able to read defenses and pick up a blitzer? That remains to be seen.

Maybe the coaches feel this line just needs time to gel as a unit. I say give them one more game and if that doesnt work start Mac and Carey in week 4

If our 1st round pick that we traded 2 picks to ensure we got can't start on this piece of s--t line, that's just a pathetic lack of judgement on behalf of the FO.

He ended up breaking his leg.

F--k that man. You saw those bums last night. Wade Smith looked like he didn't even care- the way that line played- literally blocking NOBODY- made me think the whole line had money on Cincinnatti. Get Macintosh and Carey in there now, pronto, ASA f--king P.

thats what i was thinking wade smith sucked almost the whole o line did

I agree I still think Carey should be starting. HOWEVER, I think the bigger issue is why isn't McIntosh starting instead of Wade "turnstile" Smith?

Shawn Andrews broke his leg in Philly's opener.
