Would you Ditka 2012 draft for luck or another qb

I'm on board with dumping a fourth round pick for Orton now.

But if I knew we'd definitely dump our draft next season for Andrew Luck I'd say keep that pick. It's worth it.

However, I don't see us doing it. Even if whoever gets the top pick is willing to trade it to us for HALF of our draft...our front office is too stupid to make that deal.

So how many teams do you think will be pulling a "ditka" next year to the team with the 1st pick?

I think the Panthers took him to generate hype and sell tickets.

That's the only thing I can think of. If they're not trying to figure out a legitimate QB option in the future now then they're dumber than I thought.

I think Denver ends up with Luck. It makes the most sense "story-wise."

Luck is being called the first franchise QB since Elway. The similarities are there. Both went to Stanford. Elway running the ship in Denver. Looking to deal Orton. Tebow's frustrations are mounting and I don't think Tebow is the answer there.

I think our best hope is middle of the draft (again) and dealing up into the 8 - 12 spot and drafting Landry Jones.

What about Barkley or Ryan Tannehill?

i'm banking on an entirely new front office in 2012...thats the only way i see anyone ever putting their chips on the table and going all in on their qb next year

You're sick of this team so you'd give up the opportunity to change 14 players just so you can change one?

If those 14 people that could be changed are not the difference between losing seasons and multiple Superbowl berths? And that one person is?

Then yes. Absolutely yes. Screaming from the heavens yes.

landry jones probably is our best bet...unless we put all our chips on the table and admittedly get lucky...luck and barkley will go top 5 imo to denver and washington should they get to them...but putting all your eggs in the landry jones basket and hoping you get sam bradford out of it again is dicey to say the least

miami needs to get into the top 5 of this draft...hell top 3...and go get their qb...this front office hasn't shown they got the balls to move up period for their guy...the next ones #1 priority must be get their qb at all cost

Barkley will be a good one but he's not falling to that 8 spot. We'd need to get into the top five to have a shot at Barkley.

I can't see this FO having big enough brass ones to do that, so our best hope is that the FO is gone. :hump:

there's gonna be a ton of competition to get into that top 5 next year...hell top 3 for one of luck and barkley...but you know what if miami keeps their assets we do have the picks and the young impact talent to get it done...we can be players in that market

if a team that needs a qb though gets the #1 pick kiss andrew luck goodbye...i wouldn't trade that top pick staring at an andrew luck if i needed a long term qb if you gave me 2 drafts worth of picks if i was the gm...i'd run that card to the podium

barkley won't have quite the same sizzle but teams will still come a running to get into position to get him also...

we need to be in on these guys

Exactly. I was waiting for a poster that ****ing gets it. Unbelievable some people, even non Henne homers, dont realize what Andrew Luck means. This is why we absolutely have NO CHANCE of getting Andrew Luck and I dont know why people keep bringing this **** up.

Again, unless we go 1-15 and have the top pick, we arent getting him. Whoever has first pick is. They arent trading that ****.

And if Carolina gets it, there will be like 15 teams willing to trade a **** TON to get that pick from them. Come to think of it, they might just shop Scam Newton and see if anyone wants his sorry *** and draft Luck themselves. That would be the smart play. Keep Newton on the bench this year so that any potential suckers out there dont see how terrible he is and start sorry *** Anderson.

Andrew Luck will contribute to more victories than every player taken in our next 2 drafts combined, guaranteed. Plain and simple, that's why you pull off a Ditka for Luck.

all i know is if whoevers in charge next year i hear they tried as hard as they could to get into that top 3 hell top 2 to get one of luck or barkley and it fell thru thats all i could ask for...but don't let me hear some bs like "i thought we never had a chance so i didn't waste the time so we stayed pat and took yada yada yada" or some bs like that...its garbage

miami has young players that teams around the league would love to have...in addition to our draft picks we can be players...at least we can be serious contenders to move up into where we need to be...anything less than an all out balls to the wall attempt is ****ing failure

we should as a fan base bite the bullet this year waive overrated orton bye bye and look towards acquiring your qb in 2012...

Yeah, you're dead on with this. Makes sense. It's painfully obvious that we need a QB. Any new regime that steps in will recognize this immediately from the outcry of the fans and pressure from the media. I think that's the first thing anyone would do.

So here is the million dollar question ... Would you rather sit through another season of mediocrity at around 8-8, or suffer through a 1-15 season to get Luck?
