Mike Pouncey,Earl Mitchell and a trade down in the 1st round from the #8 to the #15 for the Rams' two 2nd rounders, #43 and #45?

There are a few reasons why I think the Rams may go for something like this:
1st...They haven't had a good center since...forever.
2nd....If Kaepernick stays in San Fran and the Browns sign one of the top FA QB's like RG lll or Bradford etc. or commit to Manziel the Ram's could have a shot at getting 1st dibs on QB in this year's draft. Either way, there is enormous value in just those 7 spots.
3rd ....Nick Fairly is extremely injury prone.

The trade would give us 4 picks in the top 45, and all of them early or mid round picks. It would also clear 6.5 million in cap after dead money.

So, one of the Dolphins biggest weaknesses going into this offseason is the O-line, and you want to make it a bigger weakness by trading away its pro bowl center? And then have to fill at least 3 O-line spots and hope to be better next year?

Makes sense.

No. It's a totally stupid trade. Some people just have a fixation on getting Draft picks.
Pouncey happens to be the Offensive leader of our team - Tannehill is our QB but he hasn't got the alpha male personality. Pouncey is our locker room leader. He is not getting dumped for a draft pick.

I do the trade. The draft is much more interesting sometimes than what we put on the field

This type of thing shows up every year, overvaluing our own players. Earl Mitchell adds nothing in a trade. Literally nothing. I can just imagine the Rams franchise touting that swap to the excited fan base in Los Angeles, getting rid of a pair of second round picks and the return is a defensive tackle who has no chance to start for them and was rated last among 187 (last I checked) in run defense by Pro Football Focus.

Or, what would sell better in LA? A top ten pick in the first round perhaps leading to acquiring a franchise QB, and a multiple Pro Bowl big name player like Pouncey.....or a mid round pick and two 2nd rounders most people in LA never heard of?

Mitchell is a throwin to protect them from Fairley's perenial injury problems, nothing more.

The Rams have a ton of cap room and some are expecting Chris Long to be released as well.

No way. Our line sucks and Pouncey is a Pro Bowler in his prime.

Draft picks are a gamble, even top 10 pkcks.......we have had a ton of examples. Pouncey is a proven commodity.

Not sure if you watched Earl Mitchell play last year, but he is not trade bait.

Maybe not trade players..if qb drops and rams want to trade up to our pick.. Why not not just take there 15th and 1 of there 2nd picks..I think it works on trade chart..just a thought...

Yes I do it. Pouncey is WAY overrated and made the probowl on name only. Probably his brothers name too. Mitchell has no shot here so we lose nothing but a center. Of course we need a center so pick up one in the draft.

They have a lot of holes as well. Why would they give up high picks for a center we call overrated and what amounts to dead weight on their D line?

A little early for a "I want all the picks!1!" thread. This was also includes a "trade our garbage players for good picks" scenario, but that tends to be a year-round phenomenon.
