The way I see it, if we splurged on Brees (all that guaranteed $) I dont think we would've had the cap space to acquire Joey Porter....I believe - I'm no expert by any means. This is strictly hypothetical at this point, but think about it.

Do you prefer our current roster, or would you rather have gotten Brees and who knows what would've happend from there. I don't even think we would've drafted Beck if we acquired Brees, someone that has growing expectations on my part. Im excited to see what Beck can do as I feel he may have been the right selection.

With our current situation we have a multi 4,000 yard passer and young QB full of promise for the future. Lets not forget about Ginn. I like the way everything played out. To be honest with you, I don't even think about Brees anymore.

Its all water under the bridge.

Go Fins!!

Brees just wanted too much guaranteed money. Yeah, I really wanted Brees to come here but overall, I think we are in a better situation now then we would have been had we gotten him. Of course, purely hypothetical at this point.

I dont know? I think the addition of Joey Porter will do wonders for this team. I'm quite content with our 'average' secondary because of this. I have complete faith in Trent Green to be a solid starter providing our O Line plays at an equal or higher level than last year.

Ultimately, I would rather have Joey Porter and Trent Green + our draft over Brees and any other resulting Draft, whatever it may have been.

Forget Porter, if we had gone for Brees, we'd have 2 additional 2nd round draft picks... we traded one for CPEP and we drafted Beck this year which we wouldnt have done.

If we got Brees, then we wouldn't have been in positon to get Ginn. Would Ginn have been there at pick 20 or later? Maybe, maybe not.

So the way I would look at it is would you prefer Green, Porter, and Ginn or Brees? As much as I have followed Brees solid career from back at Purdue and still hold a grudge against the Phins front office for passing on Brees not once but TWICE, I would rather have the 3 contributors that we have right now since this is not a one man game. Todays game is all about roll players and I think we got those.

Well, I look at it the other way, if we had Brees we would have won more games last year which would have stopped me from getting an ulcer.

But then, if we won more games, Saban may still be here.:tantrum:

Brees hands down. In this league if you want to be a consistent winner, you get a consistent winner at QB. It's extraordinarily difficult to do it without one.

Drew Brees! JT and ZT only have a few years left.
I'm sure they feel the same way.

He's proven - also led the leauge in passing yards last season.

Drew Brees no question. We wouldn't have wasted money on Dante and coult have got a premium LT with the 2nd round pick like Marcus Mcneil.
