Mike Pouncey is a top 3 Centre. He is only 24 and should be a perennial pro bowler.

Pouncey though has been caught up in the bullying scandel and has also not helped himself with the Aaron Hernandez issue. He is now publicly calling for a new contract.

I love Pouncey the player, but wish he would be more of an in-house team player rather than someone who seems to publicly want to voice his own opinion.

Im not sure which way I would go as I constantly promote re-signing our own players.

Playing Devils advocate, what would you do?

Sensible thread idea, normaniii, and with all due respect to you I can't help but wonder sometimes why do some people even bother rooting for this team when it seems like all they ever wanna do is trade each and every player on the team so that they can collect the 1st round draft picks from the entire league as if we were playing monopoly or something.

To answer your question though, no, I'd sign him to a multi-year extension barring he stops partying with that Frosty the Snowman fellow during the season.

Question OP: If you were another team in the league, would you trade a 1 or 2 for Pouncey?

Yeah...great idea...then we'd be down to one bonafide starter on thr line and would have to spend the entire draft on the line..... brilliant.

I would keep him and build a great o-line around him. Before I give him an extention I'd sit him down and make sure the questionable behavior is in the past.

Hell yes, then package those picks along with the Phins other first and second and Draft a QB....the line was fine, the team just needs a QB with better pocket awareness....

It doesn't appear the team is going to do anything with him at this point. They probably want to see how some of the off field stuff pans out.

As Mack has just proven, top-notch centers are worth their weight in gold, so I too would keep him short of a ridiculous offer.

However, speaking theoretically: considering he was a first round pick for us who in general, unlike half the first round selections most any year, actually plays like one, why would or should we take a 2nd for him, or even a first in either year straight up? If anything, his performance should earn us a premium over what we spent beyond a middle of the first round pick.

Why even have any O-linemen at all? Let's replace them with all TEs and then we will have OPTIONS!

Do you have to start an offensive line? If we trade him, can we get a few good WRs out of it and just have one blocker? Imagine the Fins on the field with 7 WRs, 2 RBs, 1 OL, and Tanny...I'm getting excited!
