Would you trade a loss to Oakland for Phillip to get fired?

No man Philip's good at his job. He may just be an intern, but I have no reason to wish anything bad on him.

That's a distinct possibility, but what if Ross makes him an unprecedented offer, like a slice of ownership? Remember when there was talk that he was going to offer that for Peyton Manning?

I think the question is whether Harbaugh prefers being an NFL coach or a college coach. He might have found, like Saban, that he prefers college. If that is the case, no offer will sway him, especially when the college opportunity is his alma mater.

Some of you are sarcastic pricks and know that was ans auto correct error, damn phone won't edit the topic thread.

The offensive system that Philbin wants to run is why I want him fired. The up-tempo, dynamic, high-scoring offense that he promised has never materialized... not under Sherman, and not under Lazor. I will say that Ireland is a huge reason; he filled this team with mostly mediocre-at-best players. That said, Philbin probably has more talent on the roster than Sparano did, yet Philbin and his staff have ruined a once very good defense. Miami was good against the run. Now, if it's 3rd and 20 they give up a 22 yard run. And, they turned an offense that moved well between the 20s but lacked playmakers in the red zone into an offense that can't sustain drives to reach the red zone. A RB converting a 3rd and 1 was automatic pre-Philbin, now they're lucky if they can convert with two tries!

I've "invested" a lot of time and emotion in this team over many years. I see that Philbin is ruining this team, so I'm all for whatever it takes to get rid of him and his staff (or at least most of it). I'm sure some of you will say that I'm not truly a fan if I want them to lose, but the fact that there are a lot of fans who want Philbin fired proves my opinion has some validity.

Edited to add: I like Joe Philbin. He seems like a great guy and a loyal friend (Sherman, for example). I even like his dry sense of humor. But, he's just not cut out to be a Head Coach, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. It is what it is, so either he needs to realize this on his own and resign, or Ross has to fire him. Actually, Philbin does have some decent football traits. He'd probably make a good Assistant Head Coach in charge of practices and things of a logistical nature... just keep him away from actual gameday football decisions! He has a good record with challenges, but don't put him in charge of adjustments or time-outs!

I don't like wanting Philbin fired, but the team as a whole is more important than one guy.

Not at all. I originally just questioned would I except a loss today for Joe being fired tomorrow?.

You guys just assume we will get whoever we want as a coach once we fire Joe, how quickly you forget how many players, coaches and GM's have snubbed us recently. Right now this is not a desirable place, I will cheer for us to win every game we play regardless who is at coach or QB

Even if we lose there's no guarantee Philbin will be gone (now or at end of season). Ross is a gutless dope. Remember how many times we thought Sparano or Ireland would be fired with a loss and it just didn't happen. Same case here. We may be stuck with this clown for a while.

No way, a loss today could be the end of RT if he has a bad game his confidence will be shot and or he gets benched.......this season is just beginning we are one game out of first place to soon to be rooting for failure and thinking of draft position......

This team already dropped 2 winnable games against Barfalo and KC. The team looked out coached and typically started slowly. there is no way this team reaches the playoffs.
If the playoffs were the measuring stick for Philbin, we are already on our way to a new HC and QB.
Root for the win. It will not matter anyway. Let our English and European fans enjoy the day with a win.
