They won't trade him. He gets the $28 million if they trade him too. He will either stay there or get cut.

Unless they restructure his contract.

Peyton may be willing to do this for the obvious reason that it is better than getting cut and accepting whatever pay he gets on the open market. If the Colts are willing to put him in at a pay that is slightly more than what his agent suggests he may get on the open market, why wouldnt he do this?

The Colts may be willing to do this because it beats cutting him and letting him walk as a FA if they are able to trade him for compensation after restructuring the contract to where it is tradeable in terms of salary cap.

So this trade scenerio may happen, but it wont unless of course the contract is restructured.

Having said that, where do some of you other posters come up with these ridiculous notions of the compensation in trade to the Colts would be. A 2nd round pick..... LMFAO. Carson Palmer just went for a 1st and a 2nd, that conditionally was almost another 1st, and you think youre getting Peyton Manning for a 2nd rounder. GET REAL!

Then someone suggest Id rather trade that pick for Luck or RGIII. Well guess what. That pick dosent get you close to either of those players.

And anyone who suggests they wouldnt trade a 2nd for Manning is LOST. A 2nd. Hell, Id trade that right now for him even if I werent certain at all if he could ever play again. It would be worth the gamble. Even at his current contract and a Dr telling me there is about a 20% chance he plays again, Id trade that pick for him. If he does play, he's worth WAY MORE than a 2nd round pick. Get real. Besides, this organization uses 2nd round picks for garbage QBs and 3rd string power RBs who arent even that good and you guys act like a 2nd rounder is too much to come off of. Unreal.

There is a very good chance he never plays again.

Even if he does play he is one hit from retirement. I would not trade anything for Peyton.

This is why I Say some Dolphin fans are delusional about Peyton Manning!!! I had 1 poster on here tell me that I'm not a professional athlete and Manning's Doctors were better than my Doctors ... when I tried to explain the same exact sentiment as you did in your post ... What these delusional fans forget or bother to understand is his injury and what goes into the type of surgery Manning has had ... If Fans did research on Cervical Spinal Fusion Surgery and Degenerative disc Decease, I'd be willing to bet all calls for a Peyton Manning trade or Sign him if he becomes a F/A would stop!!!

Even if he heals and plays and is 100% healthy, which I don't think will happen...

He could just barely beat the Patriots when he was surrounded by 1st round draft picks on offense & running his very own offense.

He would never see that kind of talent here. He'd have to face the Pats twice a year and Mr hoody sure seems to have his number.

IF he Heals? is the big question!!! But Fusion Surgery requires a Metal Plate that gets screwed into the spine ... NO ONE ever heals to 100% just on the fact, after the surgery a human being now has a foreign object in the body that restricts movement and causes numbness in the areas those nerves travel through ... in Manning's case it's his throwing arm!!!

We don't have the cap room for him, and he probably won't ever be 100% healthy.

Peyton is worth every penny and pick. Let's not forget it's Peyton Manning..
Of course our doctors would make sure he could play ,so FOR SURE!!!
He would possibly bring our team deep into the playoffs.

Our doctor's SUCK SUCK SUCK at that kind of thing.

I'm aware that Flynn will be a free agent but if something were to change, I would trade a 2nd for Flynn!

first off no chance for Luck. RGIII is gone now too unless ross surprises me. The colts wont trad Peyton since he can opt out and even if they did it would be more then a 2nd. Since we are going to suk out best best is to draft a QB next year with our high pick. if you love RGIII Logan Thomas is a better qb and will be a better one

Would You Trade Our Second Round Pick for Peyton Manning?

Umm, have you ever heard the phrase, not only no, but HE!! no!

Why would we trade our 2nd round pick for a player that will likely have to retire from three consecutive neck surgeries in the last year? FREAKING STUPID!
