Would you trade Tannehill for RGIII today?

Long time lurker. Love the site. Look at it every day.

Even though RGIII was taken number 2 overall, if I was forced to decide between the two I would stick with Tannehill. It seems like Tannehill's draft position had more to do with his rawness and lack of experience rather than his lack of ability. RGIII may be currently closer to his ceiling than Ryan and is more of a finished product.

This i just like speculating whether we would have/could have/should have drafted Tom Brady way back when. You never know how a player is going to turn out in the NFL and unless you can create a time machine you cannot change the past. You play the hand you are dealt in life. I am happy we drafted Tannehill, and I wish RGIII well.

I think RG3, like Michael Vick, will be an explosive player that will give defenses a lot of problems... and get hurt a lot.

He's already had at least one concussion at the college level due to his running style, and that was one thing that really made me concerned about him before the draft.

**** no. I would have taken Russell Wilson over Griffin.

There is so much involved in the scouting process that we dont know. You just never know. Where a QB ends up has tons to do with his success. Its not just about ability. Where a guy gets drafted has a lot to do with it. Maybe in this situation Tannehill is great and balls up and maybe if he ended up in Washington he ends up failing. There is a lot involved.

It's hilarious that so many ppl on here wouldn't take RG3 over Tanny now that we drafted him. The "griffin looks crappy in camp" crowd needs to realize that RG3 actually plays against the starters on his team in camp unlike Tanny who mostly works against the 2's and occasionally the 1's. I'd give Tanny up or Griffin all day.

I think Dolphin fans are the only ones that wouldn't tbh.

I don't know. Opinions on RG3 are actually really split on some other football boards I frequent. A lot of folks are very skeptical of him.

I wanted Tannehill and Weeden over Griffin. Hell, like I said earlier, I would have taken Wilson over Griffin.

I think he'll do very well - was a big proponent of trading for him pre draft, but definitely not the price the Redskins paid for. I think I'd be more excited about the upcoming season with him over Tannehill, but honestly if he can just simply throw more TDs than INTs, and manage to put us in a position to win every once in a while, I'd be thrilled.

Coming out, I had them rated pretty similarly, but I rated Tannehill higher.

Both - in my mind - have a lot of physical tools (though I think Tannehill's tools are more conducive to the QB position), but both needed the right molding. Neither was as polished as people were/are making RG3 out to be. RG3 was/is very overrated. With the right handling, he can succeed in this league. I don't think he'll get that, though, in Washington. A. Luck was the only QB who would land on his feet regardless of situation.

I would trade, RG3 is that good. I mean I'm hoping Tannehill is the next Aaron Rodgers don't get me wrong but I think RG3 is really that good.
