Would you Trade?

he could possibly start with oak, sea, ari, cle, rams,

If he can start for them, he can start for us. Matt Moore deserves a full shot at a season as starter for us off his play last year.

NONE of those teams want garrbage. That should say something.

If Green Bay would make that deal I would do it in a second. Moore is a top 30 quarterback, but we would have drafted Tanne and signed Garrard if we though Moore could do it. Plus it lets us give his roster spot to Devlin who looks like he could become a decent back up.

If David Garrard beats out Matt Moore for our starting QB. Would you trade QB Matt Moore for Green Bay WR James Jones? I don't want to cut him. James Jones would not make it threw wavers to us if he is cut by Green Bay. Green Bay doesn't have a backup QB with any NFL experience. They have Graham Harrell as their number two QB and a 7th round draft pick as their number three. Go Fins!!

Not a lot of teams NOT named the Jests trade for backup QBs, and the possibility of trading any backup QB declines even more once TC starts. Most teams run complex offenses, so teams want their QBs in OTAs, minicamps, and training camps.

In the case of Garrard and Moore, both are on one year contracts, so the possibility of trading one of them is even less.

This trade makes sence because both players could be cut and Green Bay needs a backup with NFL starting experience and Miami could use a WR. If each player is cut they can sign with any team. I don't know how long a player has to play not to go on the waver wire? I don't think we would have a shot at Jones if he is cut. We would pick 8th in waver order. Jones has 6 years NFL experience and Moore has 6 years. Also if we cut Moore we may have some cap hit or some dead money. If we trade him we wan't suffer any cap issues.

There is no cap hit for Moore because he's in his last year ... and as an UDFA QB, he doesn't exactly have a massive contract this year.

MOORE, unfortunately for us, is in the driver's seat. He was the 12th rated QB in the NFL last year, despite being on a for-s*** team. He will be a F/A at the end of this season, and unless he starts here, he'll go elsewhere on HIS say-so, and MIAMI will get Zippo. That's how it is, whether some of the MADDEN-FANTASY dreamers on this site like it or not.

MIAMI doesn't have much leverage to trade ANY QB not named TANNEHILL. After all, GARRARD has back issues at 34, and DEVLIN is absurd: an extra arm in camp. And for the reasons above, MOORE won't be traded unless HE AGREES to be traded.

Stop mentally playing w/yourselves, Dolfans. This is the real world, and not "MADDEN" or "FANTASY FOOTBALL". There's no likelihood at all that MOORE gets any interest as a 1 Year "rent-a-QB". Because he's going to be a F/A and F/A's going to be a big payday for him, because too many knowledgable "football people" saw him play last season and do very well despite an unready HC and the COLUMBO-CAREY fiasco.

QFT. I expect Moore will go the Ryan Fitzpatrick route in 2013: survey the various teams in need of a "backup" QB and pick the one with the weakest starting QB, even if they offer him somewhat less monetarily. I think teams like the Jests, Arizona, Jacksonville, KC, and possibly even Denver or Philly might be destinations.

And yet, he can't even lock up the starting job here over a backup that's been out of the league for a year and a rookie that most agree needs development. Interesting. Does that make Philbin not one of the "knowledgeable football people?"

Also, it's kind of funny that you knock everybody for being "Madden" and "fantasy football" fans, yet rely on Moore being the "12th rated QB in the NFL" stats-wise against **** teams. He's a good backup and transitional starter. Nothing more.
