As Im watching the UM game I notice a man on the sidelines who has coached in the NFL, a man who has coached for Parcels and has been a very successful DC. I think about our Fins and how we lack a good DC. How I wish a guy like Al Groh can become available so hopefully the Fins pick him up.
Then I get on Twitter and Omar Kelly of the Sentinel reports Al Groh is on his way out of Virgina. So here is my question, if Miami gets rid of Pasqualoni and Groh is fired would you want Groh to be hired as DC.

i retract my statment im just a bitter uva fan ha but he is a proven good coach i would love too see him come to the phins and help
 
Dude...we just dropped 52 on those goons. Al Groh has done nothing at Virginia. Now granted most of the top recruits in the state go to Virginia Tech, great coaches do great things with average players. If you're looking at the college level for a DC who does great things with average players, look no further than USC's Ellis Johnson.
 
Somes are average coaches, but great Coordinators and beside the fact Groh has coached for Parcels the guy has been a HC in the NFL and a damn goos DC
 
I voted "No." At some point, and who knows when, Parcells is going to move on and the training wheels have to come off for everyone else. As long as Sparano doesn't prefer a complete goof, I'd give his opinion most of the weight. He has to work with the guy day in and day out. We don't need chemistry issues.

Absolutely... Ive wanted romeo here for so long.. and ANYONE is an upgrade over PISSqualoni
 
He left the Jets after 1 year to go to UVA...why would he even consider a DC job after giving up a HC job to be where he is at?

Besides that, he has done nothing that I know of to distinguish himself...
 
He left the jets for his dream job.....that job is about to end, so no I dont want him as a DC but I do want him on the defensive coaching staff, we have a DC......
