Trade CB V.Davis to Pittsburgh for the rights to WR M.Wallace.
The CB position has always been a struggle in Pittsburgh and they seemed to have potentially moved on from M.Wallace and we happen to have a strong need for a young talented WR.

Young up and coming CB for a young up and coming WR.

I doubt it would happen but it almost makes sense for both teams.

Yes.. With Marshall outplaying him in camp, I wouldnt mind this trade.

Ah, so weaken the 25th ranked pass defense from a year ago because you didn't like what you saw on Hard Knocks. Makes perfect sense.

Would you have suggested this before watching Hard Knocks? Have you heard that the Steelers have said, on 3 different occasions, that Mike Wallace is not for trade?

25th ranked being the key word.. and for a consistent deep threat playmaking WR

Do you realize how much money Wallace is asking for?

GM's have to manage the cap, we need a grade A WR, but not at that price.

Besides way too much is being made of how one player has played in the first week of training camp.

How many players in the NFL had bad first weeks of training camp?

I think all the casual fans with their knee jerk reactions around here would be totally amazed to see how often this happens around the league. If it is still a problem after the 2nd preseason game THEN that would be something to be concerned about

What good is a consistent deep threat if your defense becomes the 30th ranked pass defense?

What I really don't get is why people think a disgruntled WR would come here and all of a sudden be happy. He has an elite QB in Pittsburgh, he's the focal point of the passing offense, it's a winning organization that makes the playoffs year in and year out and yet he's still holding out cause he wants to be paid $10+ million a year. Something tells me he's got diva written all over him and is coming across like an extremely selfish player...but he'll be happier here like Brandon Marshall was when he left Denver because he wanted to come back home to Florida. That worked out really well.

Great assumption you have, lol! I do not have HBO and have not watched a moment of the show.

I have a major problem with players that do not come into camp in shape AND have a history of not fulfilling their potential. Every year we can state VD is potentially a great player and before you know it he has 10 years in the league with only potential not results.

He's asking for V.Jackson money which I believe he is worth.

And no it is not a knee jerk re-action, it's not about one week of camp but a career of potential that may never be tapped into here.

I just look at this as an opportunity (from a fans perspective) to vastly improve one area of need. If he potentially is losing his spot then it can't be hurting us that much at CB than can it.

Well let's not mess with that 25th ranked pass defense, maybe if VD reaches his full potential we can skyrocket up to the 23rd ranked pass defense. The WR position is a DIVA position with elite players, but I don't see where you get your stance with M.Wallace. He's done nothing to warrant that accusation, he hasn't signed a restricted offer sheet, I don't blame him. All these players know their a fluke injury away from losing a lot of money. He has a limited time/window to sign for life changing money, he's only dealing with what he can control. It's not like he's under contract and wants it re-done!

why do people want to trade our best and clearly most talented cornerback?

Some of you were ready to can the guy after that identy mishap in Champagne, before he even stepped on the field as a Miami Dolphin. This is a bump in the road of many. His first years in the league, no one was ontop of the "pups" Vontae & Sean. Sure, coaches would yell at these guys when they messed up but you can clearly tell they weren't properly critiqued. Sean and Vontae as a tandem is almost as talented as any in the league, and I'll put everything on that. I mean, lets be real here, Vontae was our only playmaker these past 3 years(Yeremiah was mainly a headknocker) and until I see otherwise, I doubt much will change.

You don't have HBO? Doesn't really matter because no one knew Vontae was out of shape until Hard Knocks aired. Not once was that written about in any of the local papers.

Lmao.. yes vontae needs to pick it up and get in shape but stop with these dumb threads! he will be alright.

Nah. CB is harder to fill. Vontae will be fine. He just needs to work harder.

I have to agree. Losing Vontae would be a disaster to an already thin secondary in a pass happy NFL. People need to stop panicking about Vontae. At least wait and see how he responds through the preseason with a coaching staff that actually gives a damn about his development before panicking.

Who wouldn't trade a proven elite playmaker for an inconsistent disappointing CB. Vontae is by no means irreplacable.
