I just was messing around and it lead me to list out who we drafted vs who was still avail that we passed on. I did not get into the detail of looking at our roster at the time, so no drafting for need was in mind. I picked from the spot we drafted but allowed myself to void a trade if the value was best at original spot in my mind (did this with the trade down for odrick and the trade up for Jordan) I did not alter anything else. Also the re draft pick is selected prior to our next selection. This was just for fun but I thought I would share...

now if we can just hire this Hindsight guy we would have the happiest forum amongst the land

2004
first. Wilfork 21 over Carey 19. Second. No pick
2005
First. Rogers 24 over Brown 2. Second. V. Jackson 61 over Roth 46
2006
first. T.Hali 18 over J.Allen 16. Second. No pick
2007
first. Willis 11 or revis 14 over Ginn 9. Second. L. Woodley 46 over Beck (if we had 2 2nds only did one)
2008
first. R.clady 12 or B.Albert15 over Long 1. Second. J. Nelson 37 over merling 32. (No M.Ryan cause Rogers)
2009
first. C. Mathews 26 over. V.Davis 25. Second L.McCoy 53 over P.White 44
2010
first. E. Thomas 12 over Odrick 28*. Second. Gronkowski 42 over misi 40. (I used original pick at 12)
2011
first. Pouncey 15 same (still looks best pick) Second. R. Cobb 64 over D. Thomas 62
2012
first. L.Kuechly 9 over Tannehill 8 (*rodgers) second. A. Jeffery 45 over the snake 42
2013
first. Richardson13 or vaccarro 15 (no trade up) second. K. Alonso 46 over trade pick 4
2014
to early to tell but looks good no change yet.

Other notes 2006 was a ****ty draft and 2007 first round was loaded, how did we **** it up soooo bad!!

smile fellow Dolphans this is our life

why did u need to bring back these nightmares, lol.

its incredible how we got everyone wrong.

its one thing to miss once in a while, every team does it, but geez, like 05 we need a qb badly, and we have the 2nd overall pick, 49ers take smith so they make the choice easy for us with rodgers, and we ****ing take a running back.

frustrating as hell

Good write up. I think we are onto better pastures with James and Landry. I like Hickey, and look forward to more next year.

I wanted Wilfork and Rogers......obviously the hypothetical Rogers pick changes a lot of what transpires afterwards.....which is why it is so important to get it right.

Never saw the production in Ronnie Brown at Auburn that warranted that pick....when this team had no quarterback.

This team waited way too long to draft a QB with a 1st rounder.

This game is also stupid because of the Salary Cap. there is no way all those players are still on the Fins roster this year. heck let along in 2010 because of the Cap you will have to start playing each player.

I would welcome a revolving door of talent over a revolving door of wtf's

I stated it was for fun so go scratch... :loser1::buzzkill:

LOL I get it was for fun. But is also brings you down. I hate looking at the draft what if game after the fact.

Well that is unless you play it like this.

Round 1 we took WR X.

5 picks later WR y was picked and is a much better player.

That is really the only way to play this game.

Because example on your side. We took TEd Ginn at 9 should have took Willis or Revis.

Obviously to me it looks like they wanted a WR there.

No offense to the original post, but I really wish this team would put together consecutive winning seasons. If for no other reason than to put a stop to these types of threads.

Not sure how much you have watched the Dolphins over the past decade but most years we could use talent at any position on the field. And to ur point of ginn, we could have def used a lb or cb there, we drafted a cb first round next draft :troll:

I'm with ya on the winning, but if you don't like a topic, don't click the link... It's a friggen message board :m359:

Did we lose our 2nd or 4th round pick in 2004 when we traded up to 19 for Vernon Carey? I know we only went one spot but Wannstedt was one of the worst in draft value.

I think we lost our 2nd in 2006 in the trade for Culpepper (which would not have happened if we had taken Rodgers the year before)

We didn't have a 2nd in 2010 because of the trade for Brandon Marshall so if there's no trade down there's no Gronkowski...not to worry though we should have taken Jimmy Graham in the 3rd over John Jerry.

You're right, it is a message board. So that means I can comment on how it sucks that we have threads like this. Threads that are a result of having too many loosing seasons. I personally see no point in discussing what could have been. What's done is done. You're crying over spilled milk at this point. Why torture yourself with "What if?"

Kinda timely read for me since after watching Aaron's 200th passing TD, I just "recycled" some Mich imagining that douchebag Saban's face was looking back up at me from the bottom of the bowl.
