That Saban picks the guy he see's as the BPA at #2 overall, and then waits to see what else is out there (if another player he really likes is still available) at Tampa's or Minny's picks???
Lets take Minnesota for example........They Really want Edwards, Saban knows this, and does think Edwards is the BPA at #2, but he also likes Ronnie Brown a lot so he Picks Edwards and see's if Brown is still there at #7, then he trades Edwards for #7, and #18, and takes Brown

Makes perfect sense to me. I think that's the backup plan in case we don't get to trade down. He's been harping about BPA for the past couple weeks not only because he wants people to think we could take anyone, but because he really does want the leverage of having the best player in the draft as trade bait.

yea, wouldn't make too much sense to me to just trade the #2, and hope one of the other guys you feel is worthy of a top pick is there....... Well that is unless he has some guys that are projected in the mid first to second round actually graded higher than the consensus top 10

Would it suprise you if Saban already has a deal in place with the Vikings, provided Edwards is there? Wouldnt suprise me in the least, he has been very good at keeping everyone in the dark!

Nothing at this point would surprise me, I just think the way I explained it would be a little better, but hey........ that's just My Opinion
