I dont know why we would even think about trading #1 for anderson, there's just no logic behind that. Even IF parcells wants to avoid paying #1 money, it just doesnt make sense.

i would also like to know who said this. It makes no sense to me. Anderson is not a number 1 pick.

maybe he/she meant entertain as in "to be entertained" meaning laughing at the comedic tone this rumor creates? Because this has to be a joke right? Nobody on planet earth would trade a number one overall pick for Derek Anderson to avoid paying a player. Unless the Browns packaged like five draft picks with him.

God only knows how good Ronnies gonna be coming off an ACL tear. As far as Fields, i think all he meant by that was "i don't need a new punter".

No, the punt coverage teams/schemes were awful. Fields would've had more punts inside the 20, if we could've fielded a halfway decent coverage team. There is a reason that Keith Armstrong is standing in the unemployment line.

Still, I feel that the comment was more of a purposeful devaluation of his players to make other teams believe that Ryan, J. Long, McFadden, etc are all viable options come draft day. There are going to be alot of smokescreens from this point forward, and I think that was a good example of one.
Ronnie's injury is concerning, but we'll have to wait and see how he progresses. When healthy, he is definitely someone that you can build around for the future.
