I was thinking the very same thing. We signed 6 people the first day ... sheesh, that's kinda ballsy dontchathink? I mean, honestly, how could you begin negotiations, conclude negotiations and get everything signed for SIX different agents in one day? I don't know ... and I don't want to know.

To me the Patriots whole scandalous spying case was much more severe and they received a slap on the hand compared to what the 49ers got. Just reafirms my belief that the commisioner and Belicheck are buddy buddy.

Yeah, we do need to be careful about casting stones when there was talk about us and Smiley. I wonder if the fact that it was Smiley and not someone like Briggs that makes a difference with the Commish on whether he pursues it. JVW does make a good point. Funny how the Commish is able to investigate and come down with a penalty so fast against the 49ers, but is completely dragging his feet on the Pats and their taping violations. Doesn't hesitate to impose penalties against players who do something wrong, but teams, especially one's that so closely embraced last year (don't forget that he changed all the tv rights for their "perfect regular season game" last year). I guess that one hits a little too close to home for his good ?
