That was an absolutely God-awful, miserably abysmal, disgustingly horrendous, repugnantly atrocious defensive performance out there. The coordinators and the players should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for both the terrible performance and game planning.
What makes it really terrible is that these buffoons knew Cassell was going to pass on every single down, and they could not stop him one time. I understand that Cassell has been playing well lately, but our pass D made him look like Marino today. Unbelievable.
There was no pass rush or coverage, and the few times the pats did run the ball it was successful. Just awful. I can't believe the D played that badly.

Well, I'd agree with you. It was pretty pathetic. But, you just posted somthing that wasn't "with the program" so, prepare for your burning at the stake.

Putting this one on the D Coordinator. Some terrible play calling out there.

On a surprising note our Special Teams had a very good game.

It's starting to look to me like the system is bigger than the QB in New England. Shades of San Fran with Montana and Young. I'm not trying to minimize Brady's greatness or annoint Cassell yet but they are starting to look like the New England of a year ago. You need an elite defense to stop them and that we are not...yet.

Are you kidding me? The Phins played awesome, it was the horrible refs that cost us the game!!!!!

j/k, they were awful today.

We knew we needed defensive talent going into this season, and into this game. I can live with losing to Randy Moss....how many more times can he do that?

We can expect a CB, FS, MLB, DT and OLB to be the key to our offseason. We don't need to expend many resources for our offense.

I'm not shocked at all by this outcome. I knew we were gonna lose this game. I was saying all week the fans need to understand this could happen and not to eat the cheese. Problem is we have a team that can win against bad teams and once in a while a good team. But we are still not where we need to be to win games we have to win. We have a few building blocks in place but the foundation still needs work. We'll end the season with a shot at a wildcard but fall just short. It will depend on how long it takes these guy's to get over this loss.

Yep. I'd give you a thanks if the button was working.

They came out in the spread and never left it. WE have no answer for teams that spread us out and go no running backs. They were pitching and catching today. Want to know how to beat us - watch this game and the Arizona and Houston games. Looking forward to the draft next year - we need stud corners and safeties.

How about NE just out played us? I kinda looked like that to me, although the refs helped all they could. Is boston that much bigger TV market.

In the Dolphins defense (no pun intended), New England's defense looked pretty bad too. They were allowing Miami to move the ball down the field on almost every single drive...

Just keep that in mind.

It was a shootout, plain and simple. Neither secondary could really stop the passing attack of the other team, even though in victory it looks like Cassel and the NE passing attack did MUCH better. They did, but we were matching their drives punch for punch.

It just came down to which D got the critical stops, and that was NE.

We're not built for a shootout. Pennington plays his butt off, and our receivers/TEs/RBs played quite well in the pass game. It's been a long time since I've seen our team reel off 10-40 yd gains like that. But there was no way we were gonna last in a shootout like that without the D getting a stop or two, and we still don't have that #1 go-to guy like Moss. Kudos to our offense for making it a game through 3 and a half quarters!
