Wow, we have 28 of our own draft picks on the roster

This is the first time in years that I can think of haven't more than 10 draft picks on the roster in recent years at this time of the year for the up coming season. I'm sure we won't have that many on the final roster, but it seems like we're finally moving in the right direction..Here's the break down

Draftee's - 9
Previous Draftee's - 19
New UFA's or Trades -21
Previous FA's - 27
Undrafted FA's 2008 - 19

Our own picks actually out number the other categories for the first time in at least 9 years that I can remember with 28 total.

Maybe we're finally becoming a home grown team after all.

Number acquired pre-Parcells: 38
Number acuired post Parcells: 46

It will be interesting to see how the 53 man roster stacks up as far as these two percentages.

ya your telling me. wait till 2 years from now. all the "depth will be gone" and the projected starters now will turn into depth if htey dont become very good and new ppl come in. its always movement out wiht the bad i wiht the good. no holding onto crap like previous 50 years lmoll

No kidding..


But look at the number before 3 years ago..we weren't keeping draft picks at all...now we're evolving...all I'm pointing out is that our draft picks are getting better, especially since they've had to go thru 3 coaching changes in 3 years.. The fact that there's still 19 previous on the roster is pretty good.. we haven't had enough to fill out one side of the ball before...today we have enough to have a O and D from draft picks along..of course they'd have play a different position that what they are.. But our team is finally getting to a point where it values draft picks again, that's all.
