I was looking in a magazine (i think Lindys) They ranked Zach as the 11th best MLB. They put him behind the likes of Vilma, and a bunch of other guys who just arent as consistent, but have never even had a game as good as Zach. I dont get all the hate on zach. He works his butt off and is all over the field. He has a knack for the ball and is the smartest player in football. I just hate how because he is a small white guy he gets no credit for verything he has done. The other strike against him is, he has to be in a system that fits him. Well everyone said he was too small and slow for the 3-4, but once again zach proves them wrong, by having 2 outstanding seasons under the new scheme, which prolly shocked and pissed off people, looing for a reason to write him off. I am glad it was JT who had an incredible season last year, because if it was zach who posted those kind of stats nobody would notice.

sorry for this rant, but it real grinds my gears :yell: that peop dont give him the respect he deserves.

11th best MLB? This is just more proof that if you don't toot your own horn, the media will often overlook you.

We kno Zach is arguably the best MLB in the league but no one ever gives miami credit...what else is new

again that is the OPINION of the sports "experts" which don't really know much about football

i agree zach doesn't seem to get as much credit as he might deserve...but to think he is always overlooked and never recognized just isn't true...he's made 7of the last 8 pro bowls so it's obvious he is being recognized when it matters regardless of some writers rankings

Zach is one of the best MLB to ever play this game. His stats line up with just about anybody. IMHO he's in the top 3 MLB in the NFL. He may not take over games anymore but I've seen him do it in his prime. He's been the heart and soul of a defense that ranks among the best every year.

It seems what qualifies you to be a great player has changed. It's no longer about stats, consistency, and game impact. It's a damn beauty contest now.

Anyboody that doesn't have him in the top 3 or 4 is pretty stupid. But then again we akk know that 1/2 of the sports "experts" realy don't know much of anything at all.

The media doesn't vote for who makes it to the Pro Bowl. It's the players and now the last couple of years, the fans too.

exactly my point...he is recognized when it matters...the writers dont matter at all...im sure we all know what zachs answer would be if we asked him what the medias opinion means to him

who about the media he always leads the leugue in tackles. and is very consistent

I understand your frustration, but all that matters is what respect his peers hold for him. Pro-bowl starting LB.....says it all.

Ask what opposition Running Backs what they think of Zach Thomas. He cant be that bad cos they vote him to Hawaii. Nuff said really.

Maybe if he would take the ball away from the player after every tackle and hit it ( he could call it the punch in the ball) or dance the jig he would be thought of higher.
