WQAM talking about Ireland and taking calls

the sad thing is i think ireland can locate draft position talent...but its just everything else at that he's terrible with...and he's not close to fixing this qb issue...not even close

I cannot agree with this statement more. He's got a decent eye for talent, but comes off as cheap, unlikeable, and convinced you win in the trenches, AKA stock up on DL and OL, as opposed to getting your franchise QB.

He has failed in doing with every front office must do, find a franchise quarterback...to make it worse, he goes out there and makes the same crap statements every offseason about "finding a qb, getting more playmakers, etc..." and failing to deliver on that promise...his trades are unfathomably bad, never receiving due value, and looking at our situation, how in the hell are we up against the cap?? what difference makers do we have that we are pinching pennies now trying to scrounge up enough to find players. we have a bunch of role-players, and no superstars, if i may make a basketball reference...

i have no idea why ross hasnt dumped his ass to find someone better qualified, with a better REPUTATION, than this clown...

This isn't pro or anti Ireland, but just a general thought.

Since when have the fans known what was best for a team? If fans had it their way, their favorite team would sign all the best free agents every year, would trade draft picks like they were baseball cards, and the most popular, not the best player, would start at each position on a team. I'm ambivalent towards Ireland, but I find it amusing that everyone thinks Ross should fire him because the fans want it. The fans wanted Drew Bledsoe over Tom Brady, just sayin'...

This would be great post if the people in charge of the Dolphins actually knew what was best for the team. All the losing we have done over the past 15 years and the poor decision making make it hard to buy into anything they tell us. It has been clear as day what needed to be done with the team.

A QB. They have picked the wrong guys in this department or just flat out ignored this position. No more excuses. As a fan you can not tell me what they have been doing for the past 15 years is OK. You can't honestly sit here and tell me everything is OK when it hasn't been for a long time. You have players openly sating that no one wants to come here. Hell we can't even get a visit from Peyton Manning. We were the only team that had to go to him and he didn't even want to sit with Ireland. There is clerly a bad perception of Ireland across the league and no one wants to deal with him.

I agree with you for the most part, however if they grabbed Tebow it would be obvious that all they care about is making money and not winning. Fans don't know what is best for the team I agree but we know Tebow is not what is best for the QB position. I do not support protesting the phins but I do support protesting Tebow.

Yeah but hoops, he always goes with the safe pick in the draft.

I never said everything is OK. I just commented on the fact that the fans are going crazy trying to get the man fired, and pointing out the fact that the fans rarely know what's best for a team. That is not a pro or anti Ireland post, it's a simple fact.

I disagree about Ireland's perception around the league. Fisher made a comment about liking Ireland, so it would be a fair assumption that if one prominent member of the league likes the guy, others do as well. Some players may not like the guy, but AJ Smith has that same issue. I don't know where you got that information that Peyton didn't want to sit with Ireland, that's the first I've heard of it. Once again, I'm ambivalent towards the guy. However, unlike most people, I'm willing to keep a level head and look at the situation rationally...

This off season was Jeff Ireland's exit interview. He will
Probably tank in the draft and be out mid season, right after trade deadline

The only way to get Ireland out is to make Ross feel it in his wallet with decrease season ticket sales.

Ireland is a decent drafter, and his trades havent all been that bad. The Reggie Bush trade definitely looks like a win for Miami right now. A 4th for Fasano and Ayodele wasn't godawful. BUT the issue is Free Agency, where he can't seem to get any decent outside talent to consider Miami. That's a SERIOUS issue. You definitely build through the draft, no doubt about it, but a GM has got to be a smooth enough talker to get quality free agents. We've had two guys this offseason, Flynn and Winston who WANTED to be here, and were need positions for the Dolphins, but for some reason, didn't sign. That's concerning. Unless Ireland hits a home run with this draft and gets us 3-4 guys who are contributing on day one, he's gotta go.

i hear obama talkin. thats all. just an occupy movement. just stirrin the pot. just up to no good. I say go ahead and protest. you all would look like idiots. go bang your drums. show your colors for the whole world to see. be true to who you really are. and then we will get someone to take pics and post them on here and we can all celebrate.

lol

dont look now, but NO is getting busted. Washington getting busted. Dallas busted. but our guy is an idiot. half the league isnt even getting any free agents cus they have no cap money. yet our guy is a loser. whateva!

first it was sparano, now ireland. who's next? meet the new boss, same as the old boss. dont get fooled again. whateva!

Careful with that, you'd be insuating he's been in charge prior to this past season.
