WQAM's Big O reports Lecharles Bentley is now seriously being considered

The Big O just announced that the Dolphins are seriously thinking of bringing in Lecharles Bentley to add Depth to the O-line. He went on to say that by adding Bentley you could probably move Satele to the RG spot to compete with Donald Thomas.

I kinda disagree with Big O in saying that the addition of Lecharles would knock Satele out of the starting rotation, If anything it would probably slide him to one of the G spot and add excelent Depth to the o-line.

He also went on to say the Bentley is complete healthy. WoW could you imagine adding Penington, Bentley and another WR. WoW! Both could clearly be added with the two roster spots available.
 
Im seeing the tackle spot as our weakest link. But I'm not opposed to the signing if it happens.
 
fantastic news. bringing in bentley would bring competition to the guard and center position, which brings out the best in players. and if he earns the starting position for center, it would give us an offensive line of

LT- Jake long LG-Justin Smiley C-Bentley RG-satele RT-Carey

and we would have tremendous depth on the offensive line, which is a must. Plus, if bentley some how plays on a pro bowl level this year, we can get a good draft pick for him.
 
Im all for signing Bently if it is a reasonable deal and he passes a physical. Remember his knee was destroyed so badly that he hasnt played in over 2 seasons. Even if he passes a physical, there is no way physically that he could play at the level that he did before his knee injury. Although he may again play solidly, his days of playing at a pro bowl level are assuredly over.
 
Bently hasn't played in years. I wouldn't get my hopes up too much.
 
I wouldn't automatically say satele goes to RG...it looks as though thats Thomas's spot to lose. Although one thing that has worred me is that Marcus Stroud has been "unblockable" in camp. Ferguson has been giving Satele a hard time...if Bentley is better at C I'd say go for it. If nothing else it adds good depth. Im still concerned about our lack of depth in the Tackles though.
 
great depth on the line, if he passes the physical. get him in

who knows he might make a pro-bowl type comeback :unsure: well maybe not but he would be good to have :D

Not only that but Kris Jenkins has been a total stud in Jets camp.. Nick Mangold just can't handle him one-on-one.. If Mangold can't handle him then Satele will get eaten alive as Satele can't even handle the older and weaker (and not as good) Ferguson in camp.
 
interesting debacle....I guess Rome wasn't built in a day.
 
Moving Satele would be an absolute mistake. He is the Center and we should continue to let him grow in that position. If Bentley is added, I see it only as depth for the guard position.
 
I would rather keep Thomas at RG for now. It seems like everyone has been pretty impressed with the 6th rounder out of U Conn. Bentley hasn't played for 3 years, and has not been in camp anywhere. If we have a depth problem, then maybe, but to compete for a starting position and move everything now, I say no.
 
Bentley is one wrong move from suffering a career ending injury. The guy has hardly ever been healthy in his entire NFL career.
 
Signing Bentley would add great depth. Satele should stay at C, and Bentley should compete against Donald Thomas at RG. I've been impressed with what I've been hearing about Thomas, but there is a reason he went in the sixth round and it wouldn't hurt to give him some serious competition.

If Bentley beats him out, then it's a win situation for us, we improved our line while adding great depth at the interior line. It wouldn't hurt to let Thomas learn from the back-uip position for a year behind Bentley.

If Thomas beats out Bentley, so be it; Thomas will anchor our line for years to come and Bentley will bring great depth at the interior spot.

I agree, we need to leave Satele at his spot at C. He's talented and working his butt off at that position. Yeah, he's strugled alittle with Ferguson(sp?) but thats to be expected with his size. Satele has now where to go but up.

If we brought Bentley in to compete at RG with Thomas and Murphy that would be a plus, but I agree with Nublar. Trying to plug him at center would hurt Satele
