WR and TE rankings

WTF!!!!!!!!! thats bs the jets ahead of us?!?! even nfl live gave us a better ranking that that...its alrite we will prove them wrong but thats just upright riddiculous ranking us at 23 and behind some of those teams listed

Only 8 spots ahead of the Bills at #31...

There are definitely a few teams there that we should be ahead of, but what can you do?

One in particular is Denver, IMO. Sure they got Rod Smith who is a stud, but he's getting a little long in the tooth. Javon Walker won't be 100% more than likely and an ACL injury is gonna make it a little hard for any juke steps... Lelie probably won't be anywhere around... and their TEs are non-existant, except for blocking...

Denver shouldn't be anywhere near the top 15, IMO... but what do I know? I may be biased...

23. Miami

Chris Chambers is a hard player to evaluate. He hints at greatness but appears hampered by poor quarterbacking. His statistics, both advanced and traditional, have never been impressive. He has had an above-average DVOA only once since his rookie season, and last year was the first time he ever gained over 1,000 yards. He is inconsistent and catches a low percentage of passes intended for him. Chambers gained 460 yards in one three-game stretch and never gained 100 in any other game. Despite his obvious talent, he will need to show more to be considered a top receiver. Marty Booker is adequate but not an asset. Randy McMichael has been passed by Crumpler and Witten as emerging tight ends. Wes Welker posted a solid DVOA as a third receiver.

He went to the probowl with frerotte at QB :fire:

DEFINATELY dont agree with that!! and im not just sayin that cause im a dolphins fan.......McMike is a Top 5 TE in this league and I agree Chambers can be inconsistent at times but with Culpepper with us now I think he'll put up HUGE numbers 1400+ yards and 11 TD's I say......I think we should be top 15 at least!

Hampered by poor Quaterbacking??? So what there saying is that Chambers has a hard time catching passes in another time zone???Go figure!

definately do not agree with the jets, but even having san diego and kansas city WAY ahead of us is ridiculous! sure san diego and kansas city have marquee names at tight end......but that is it! i thought this was wide recievers and tight ends together?! so one receiving threat is better than what we have? this article sucks! but thanks for bringing more disrespect to my attention, i hope we can prove all the haters wrong, and in the process kick them off the bandwagon as it goes flying by at 100 miles an hour!

who cares...if you look at our body of work they are correct...why does everyone but US have to prove it on the field?

Here are my thoughts on the ranking. I think you need to include the RBs receiving as part of the equation. For example, Westbrook on Philly makes their passing team much more dangerous. In fact, there are times he lines up as a WR.

1. Dallas – hard to argue

2. Seattle – over rated. There are many teams I’d rather have. Talk about what one good year does for a team. The author even states .. For years, no amount of stick ‘em or special gloves allowed the Seahawks' receiving corps to hold onto the ball.

3. Indianapolis - ok

4. Cincinnati – see a trend. Good QB=good WR. How are they third when the author admits …The tight ends provide nothing in the passing game; Matt Schobel was useful on third down, but he's gone to Philadelphia.

5. San Diego – over rated. Take Gates from this team and the rest is very average.

6. Arizona – Great starting WR, but can you name their TE. They say as much ..The Cardinals have no tight end threat unless rookie Leonard Pope can mature very quickly, and when raiding the Colts' talented receiving corps,

7. Kansas City – I bet you there would be a lot of KC fans that would disagree with them ranked so high. Put the RB in the passing game and that changes things drastically

8. Carolina – Steve Smith is great … but then .. .and who is their TE?

9. St. Louis – see my comments on Arizona.

10. New England – Does the ..most dangerous tight end duo in football” give a team a #10 ranking when they don’t have two good receivers?

11. Pittsburgh – one receiver and an unproven TE gives them a #11 ranking?

12. Oakland – I would take their WR corp above almost all others. They are probably #2 in my book. What’s wrong with Randy Moss and Jerry Porter, not to mention Curry and Gabriel?? They cut down the TE, but Jolley is still better than many of the higher ranked teams have.

13. Washington – Talk about a balanced receiving corp, they appear to be a top 5 team. Moss, Lloyd, Randle El and Cooley.

14. Denver – Will Walker be able to contribute this year? I think we need to know that answer, else this team is a bottom 10 ranked team.

15. New York Giants – Burress and Shockey make a great “big two”. Toomer isn’t bad and if Moss can step up this year they can be as dangerous as any one. They should be ranked much higher. (oh and they have Tiki in the backfield)

16. Green Bay – ha ha ha ha ha

17. Minnesota – ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

18. Baltimore – ok I’ll take their TE alone and he makes them better than GB and Minn combined.
19. Atlanta – Peerless isn’t that bad … whoops he’s gone. Can I name another receiver. Ok their TE is pretty good.

20. Tampa Bay – maybe a little better than 20

21. New York Jets – first they need a QB that can throw the ball, then we can evaluate the WRs

22. Houston – Are they kidding. How many teams would trade their WRs straight up for Johnson and Moulds. They are one of the most dangerous pairs of receivers. I’ll bet they figure out a way to get them the ball this year.

23. Miami – how low can they be ranked for not having a QB last year. They have quality starters at all three positions which is more than most of the teams ranked higher can boast.

I won’t comment on the remainders as they seem to all have major questions

24. Tennessee

25. Cleveland

26. Jacksonville

27. Detroit

28. Philadelphia

29. New Orleans

30. San Francisco

31. Buffalo

32. Chicago

KC, San Diego, Green Bay, Minny and Seattle should not be ahead of us. Oakland should be in the top ten, Atlanta should be near the bottom of that list, and New England has alot of unproven guys.
