WR Damian Williams visits Dolphins/signs one year deal

According to Williams he is also going to provide competition for Thigpen for the kick/punt return job.

That's good because Thigpen looked very blah returning kicks last year but blocking does factor into that as well.

I'm so afraid that our front office is thinking just like this, and we won't be looking to get a WR in this draft. Which IMO is just asinine, as this is the year to go after a WR with it being such a great draft class. Getting a top WR in this draft would be better then in any other draft in a long time. We need to be moving Hartline to 3rd or even 4th WR and get us some playmakers. Not other teams scrubs and hope someone shines later, and miss out. A turd is still a turd no matter how much you polish it.

Bro, Hartline is a money-hands WR. With the exception of that Buffalo game wherein it seemed as the pigskin god were laughing at us once again.

I can see him in the slot but we better be using 3 wrs packages more often than naught.

Id be truly disappointed if we go anywhere outside of Oline with our first 2 picks. We have a MAJOR hole. Not kinda sorta well we can still pick PBA if we go Oline with our one. No. M-A-J-O-R weakness- oline. Fix the problem. Fix the problem. Why is that so hard for you guys to understand.

Again, fans looking for the shiny new toy. If Tannehil hits Wallace on the 7 or so TD bombs he overthrew him on, if they can fix that, we are strong at WR. Pick one up on the 2nd day, sure. But on day 1? No, man.

I said this last year and it went on deaf ears. Fix the problem.

If you have an oil leak, do you take a look at it and say well, the tires could use rotating? The brakes are okay but could be better. The interior is filthy, gotta clean that. NO. Fix the oil leak. Fix the problem.

I dont know anything about the guy, is this viewed more as a depth/camp body signing like Rios and Cone, or more as a back up plan to missing out on Burleson?

Surprising we signed a WR....I like our WR but I guess with 3 of them coming off knee surgeries better safe than sorry.......possible one maybe behind in rehab, if this is the case great signing plus we don't have to waste a draft pick on a WR when we need OL, LB and secondary help......

. I think they covered themselves at the skill positions on offense the last two years.

Unbelievable.

It might be said that we are covered up with 2nd and 3rd-stringers at RB, WR and TE. We don't really have any weapons on offense that can do Tannehill much good.

This team simply HAS to set the bar higher at offensive skill positions.

Probably because he was having one of the best camps out of our WR core.

This

Guy was beasting it and then there goes an injury.... If he's back healthy people on here will be saying Williams who?

Bigger signing than with Rios and Cone. Those two have almost no shot at making the 53 and are really competing for a chance to get on the practice squad. Williams on the other hand has a legitimate shot at making the 53 and could actually take Thigpen's spot on the roster as the returner.

I don't mind him making the 53 but its not a good plan to have a guy that in so many years in the NFL has done so few returns. In 4 years of the NFL he has returned 4 kickoffs and in college none.
His last year at USC he was the punt returner and did a god job. I do find it somewhat suspect that Tennessee who had fairly below average kick returners since he was drafted outside of Leon Washington this season never used him.
I actually hope we look at Miller as a kick returner he was very good in 2010 for Miami Hurricanes.
