Ok, we do not know for sure if Parker will be injured or bother to do as much as he could to become the best possible version of himself. We do not know that Caroo’s Surgery keeping him out til training camp will keep him from being on the roster.
But we still have Stills, Amendola, Wilson, Grant, and one (maybe two) TEs. Scott had good write ups until his injury and the same for Ford.
Maybe we would be better off to let these guys get the Thill snaps for timing.

Carroo is as good as gone IMO.

I am curious to see Ford, Lewis, Scott & Morgan this year. Ford and Scott went on IR early last year and Morgan was released after a very good camp.

Yeah..... no.

You think Parker might be injured so you want him to sit out practices to gain chemistry ? You say “he might not do as much as possible to be his best” .... well he’s not gonna be able to do that if he isn’t getting those reps in the summer

Seems more and more obvious to me that Parker just doesn't want it bad enough. All the physical gifts any player could hope for, but the drive to be great just isn't there. It's a shame. Hope he proves me wrong, but I don't see him on this roster beyond this season.

I somewhat agree with the Parker assessments but at the end of the day we at least need the Parker we've been getting. I don't think we're in a position to just play someone else.

Yes, I don't get the whole I would rather get less from Scott or another player than what we've been getting from Parker. If Parker were on another team and was coming off back to back 55+ reception seasons, one with Jay Cutler, people would be ok if Miami added him to the roster at the right price.

I agree. I am not sure why I think Parker is a prima Donna and not a guy who works to his potential. Just too many articles saying that I guess. If the Chris Chambers thing was just about Chambers wanting him as a paying client he gets a complete pass on that.

Parker will be a starter as long as he's not actually injured. He's been underwhelming for where he was picked, but it's not like he's terrible out there or something. Carroo on the other hand is not making the roster. I doubt it was worth the 6mil salary each of Amendola/Wilson to get him off the team, but now that they're here, there's no room for him left.

We have nothing to lose at this point to see what Parker can do this year. I believe if he stays healthy he'll have a good year. I know people are down on him but that's because he was a 1st round pick. If he had been drafted in the 3rd round then we'd be talking about him having some great numbers. Now I'd agree that so far he does not deserves #1WR money but we'll see what he does this year.

DeVante Parker - WR - Dolphins
According to the Palm Beach Post, "Dolphins coaches say few if any players have spent more time in the building than (DeVante) Parker since last season ended."

It's notable because Parker doesn't have a great reputation for work ethic. Beat writer Joe Schad says Parker "has been focused on managing his health as well as studying film." Schad also noticed Parker running extra routes with Ryan Tannehill after a recent OTA practice. When Tanehill last stayed healthy (2016), Parker set career highs in receiving yards (744) and touchdowns (4).

Parker was a huge disappointment last season but don't be too quick to write him off. He has talent and there are reports that he has worked extremely hard to get himself healthy this offseason. Also don't underestimate the effect of getting Tannehill back as his QB - he is a more accurate passer than Cutler and Ryan had some good plays with Parker back in '16. Make or break year for DeVante Parker (and he knows it), but let's see how he goes in training camp before declaring him a disaster.
Regarding Carroo - if it is just a knee scrape then it's a pretty routine minor surgery and he'll be likely be back for training camp. We've basically seen zilch to date from Carroo and he knows with the additions of Wilson and Amendola (on top of Stills, Parker and Jakeem Grant), he's under the pump just to make the roster. Should be very competitive for final receiver roster spots.
