I have to admit that I am pretty skeptical with what's been going on with Marshall being generously handed over the Cutler and leaving this team with a huge hole to fill. Like the Beast or not he was a huge threat to opposing teams. Did he not come through in clutch times to haul in those TD's? Yeah, he suffered from the #19 syndrome. I was a firm believer if he had a solid #2 lining up with him it would have made a tremendous difference.

Either way, I am clueless as to a logical solution for the fins at the WR position. Not much left in FA (keep Manningham far away from this team) and it's not a guarantee Blackmon falls to the 8th pick OR that this team woud take a WR there.

So who has some realistic solutions this team can take? I'm not hopeless but I know some optimists out there have some unique ideas as to what this team can pull off. Let's hear it.

brandon loyd. to me hes the most complete wr out there. a little older so his price shouldnt be to high.

I think we should sign Manningham to a #2 receiver worthy contract and then trade back somewhat and grab Michael Floyd.

If we are in rebuilding mode, it doesn't really matter. Roll with Hartline, Bess and Gates and pickup another wr via free agency. If Miami was to sign Flynn then I say trade down to get another pick as long Michael Floyd is on the board. I say take Floyd as long as there isn't an immediate need top rated player that falls.

I am not upset at Miami because I have become used to the circus show that is the dolphins for years. It just is worse under Ross. All I can hope is that Philbin will rebuild this team using his knowledge of what they were able to do in Green Bay.

Deion Branch and Lee Evans interest me...

At this point, they need to add many receivers with differing skill sets.

Also, looking at potential 2nd and 3rd round receivers is a must. #8 is too high for receiver at this point.

Finally, start thinking of receivers that could be traded for by draft time...I cannot, but by draft day some teams look to gather picks.

I totally forgot about Lloyd. Wouldn't be a bad option to get some help from him.

I was also thinking maybe Philbin see's some untapped potential that he can work with in Gates, Wallace, and Marlon Moore.

While he is not a wr, he has potential in a hybrid sense. I am talking about Tamme, te from Indy. Young and can catch.

i was down on bmarsh being basically given away..but after the reports..i say good riddance!! maybe its the change of culture this team needs...zero tolerance..i like it...for once i think the phins made a classy move. also with the new wc system i am not worried so much for the wrs because philbin and of course rodgers made jordy nelson look like the best wr in the league..very system based.
screw bmarsh and his antics..good classy move by the FO.

Trade down and double down on WRs in this draft. Floyd and someone in the second or third round. Key is to get Flynn otherwise we nned first or second round pick for a QB. Of course last year we could have had Mallet in the second round.

Lloyd would be nice, but we don't seem to be among those talking with him. I just hope we don't give our #8 to Pitt for Wallace.

Lee Evans...mmm maybe
We could always roll the dice with Braylon Edwards...hehe

Manningham is being targeted by Ireland, so if he gets in for a visit, he may be signed.

Here is a list of some other Free Agent WRs that have not been tied to Miami (as of yet):

Brandon Lloyd
Braylon Edwards
Ted Ginn
Deion Branch
Jerome Simpson
Eddie Royal
Plaxico Burress
Jericho Cotchery
Early Doucet
Lee Evans
Legedu Naanee
Donte Stallworth

Just to name a few. Oh and for fun, Greg Camarillo.

Also, draft is very deep at WR, so expect to see us possibly select two within the first three rounds.

I want Flynn and Manningham
Then trade down and grab a extra 2nd and 4th.

1st-Michael Floyd WR
2nd-Fleener TE
2nd-Sanu WR
3rd-Best Pass Rusher
3rd-Best Lineman
4th-Best Lineman
4th-BPA
5th-BPA
6th-BPA
7th-BPA
7th-BPA

Some people might think im crazy taking 3 recievers in this offseason but it would definatly be worth it.

Saints and Packers manage to use all there recievers and that makes them succesful.

Manningham/Floyd/Sanu/Hartline/Bess/Gates would be a VERY GOOD recieving core.

Some nice thoughts there on WR. Branch, would be last case scenario, but Lee Evans would be nice.

Do you think these posts through? Braylon Edwards coming in after Marshal being moved out? Seriously? I guess putting Lebrick's posse in the same town as Edwards has all the makings of a PPV fight.:chuckle:
