Wright arrested.(Old news)

Dude this isn't smack but...

How long has Saban been the coach? And he's already had two guys arrested...

If he coaches for 5 years, at this pace, he'll have 20 guys on police blotters

Weak.

Randy McMichael was drafted in 2002. Williams was a Dolphin in 2004. He had no history of problems. And yet he was cut after the arrest.

By that rational, character isn't important to Mike Mularky either because his roster is filled with guys who've been arrested as well. Guys like Eric Moulds (deadbeat dad, beating up a girl in college, assault on his wife) and Travis Henry (sex with a 14-year old).

Every NFL roster contains men who've made mistakes and/or have been arrested. Doesn't mean the coach isn't concerned with character.

thats what I was trying to say....

:rawk:

But the thread is about wright, correct?

A guy you're team was interested in.

My point is, Saban will look past character issues (as will many coaches), see Crowder, Ricky, etc...

But when a coach does that, when they get in trouble nobody should be surprised.

I totally agree with this... maybe you can say that Nick is setting himself up for failure... or that he is a hard a$$ and he is collecting a few guys that have had problems before and he is now going to whip them into shape.

Yes this thread is about Wright, but you was the one who changed the subject like always. You can't say anything about our rookies because they was in college when Crowder and Roth did those things, not in the NFL. Both Crowder and Roth are starting over because they didn't do anything in the NFL yet.

I interperated the previous post as a postshot. You usually don't pass up the opportunity to take one at our team. So if somebody interperates a post that way, nobody should be suprised.

Still, I was mainly rebutting your post. You said character is not a concern to our coach and used McMichael and Williams as examples. I disagreed and drew parallel to Mike Mularky (whom I happen to think IS concerned about character) to reinforce my point. Not trying to divert or change the subject. Just use players/teams your more familiar with.

This is a fair point, though.

If these guys get into trouble, Saban will have to own up to his decisions. With Ricky, I think the ultimate goal is to trade him. He's already under contract and ultra talented. The Phins own an $8.6 million judgement against him. Why not give it a shot??

Listen, I'm not saying the majority of coaches aren't the same when it comes to this, but in light of the McMichael situation, Ricky, and already taking a waiver out on Crowder and Roth (college or not, they still got in trouble)

is it wise to use a pick in a supplemental draft on a guy who could be more trouble?

Saban may be a disiplinarian...but you can't have lots of problem guys.

SIDE NOTE: if Wrights workout was as bad as I heard, I would use a pick on him if he was a boy scout,

Travis Henry had sex with a 14yr old??? And he's not in jail why?

.

never. thats the fun part.

if lee evans karate kicked a nun, i'm sure there'd be a couple thread about it here:lol:

I never waivered as a fan last season. However I'm not sure I could handle cheering for a bunch of arrogant, wife beating, rapist, losers... I believe in second chances and hope that Saban and the organization can help turn these guys around. Yet, if it turns into a "slap on wrist because they're good players" parade, I'd prefer to go 0 and 16 with a class team then win games with a bunch of scumbags that make me embaressed to be a Dolphin fan.

Randy and Boston should get some anger management help, it sounds like Crowder did some stupid college-esque stuff that is hopefully behind him, I have no idea what Roth's issues were, Ricky is just a stoner (and at this point should be the least of our worries) but Elam should in no way shape or form be on this team. It's an absolute disgrace.

She was a little older, and there were other circumstances, dosen't make it right but :

Henry being borderline ******ed + young girl lying about her age = Statuatory lovin.

C'mon

OK boys & girls, looks like it's time some remedial reading comprehension. The original post CLEARLY states that the chargers were DROPPED. It happened BEFORE he attended USC and all the teams were AWARE of the alleged incident.

What is the problem?

Thats just not fair. The only one I have had a problem with is The safty from noterdame. He can't punish randy yet because nobody knows exactly what and how it all happened! Boston and ricky are just low risk Possible high reward investments it would be ignorant not to take advantage of the situation. Saban knows what he is doing, we have no right to question the character of the team because it technically doesn't exist yet it is still an unfinished product.

i agree nice post
