Wright moves to nose tackle

You obviously havent seen a picture of him if it looks like he's working hard to you.

Good to see he lost weight and is getting in shape fast. now after mini-camp ends that weight needs to stay off. We need to see big things from Manny this year

I dont think that will be an issue I am sure saban phoned mommy and now he must be on a lean diet

I am sure that it is a good news and I think we should be excited!

I was wondering why he wasn't moved to NT before. He's definately big enough so it's probably a matter of whether or not he can take on two blockers at once. I reallu hope he works out there. It would be nice having a NT with pass rush abilities.

I like the move, he could be a monster there. Don't worry about the weight guys, Saban will work it off of him I'm sure of that.

In Saban We Trust!

It's easy for a lineman to put on weight in the offseason. He'll be alright though.

IMHO Manny has the potential to be a very good DT at around 310 lbs or an average NT at his current weight. It appears, for now, he is content to be the latter.

At the moment, I can't decide if his recent weight gain was in some way premeditated or if it was a simple matter of a lack of discipline.

Frankly, I am surprised he was allowed to leave the training facility at all during the off-season.

people change like the wind around here...what was it a month ago reports were that manny was way overweight and guys were already writing him off and talking about the 2 7th rounders we took this year. manny was a 5th round supplemental pick that played in his rookie season and actually did pretty well. and now the info comes out that the coaches told him he's getting an increased role. i love it.

That is true and you are right. I think I remember you saying not to worry and that he would lose weight. Good call my friend. We were all very worried. I am glad to see it and hear that he is determined. Way to go Manny!

Who has never taken a trip home to eat Mom's down home cookin and NOT put on more weight?

Thought so.

He gained 30 lbs. in 2 months. Doesn't that strike you as a little extreme?

well if this was premeditated then some people on here owe him an apology. but is he strong enough? isnt he too tall? itd be realllllllllllyy nice if he worked out there.

When someone gets their position moved during training camp, it is usually a bad sign. It usually means that they wont make the team at their previous position.

see Marcus Vick.

Dolphins | Saban looking for M. Wright to be in better shape
Sun, 11 Jun 2006 11:26:36 -0700
Miami Dolphins head coach Nick Saban was asked Sunday, June 11, if he is concerned about DL Manuel Wright being overweight and he replied: "Anybody who is overweight is a concern. But it is what it is. So we put him on a diet, we do what he needs to do, we run him extra. We've got a couple of ways they can get on the bike or on the treadmill. They've got to do a calorie-burn if they're overweight by so many pounds. He's been doing that. He's made some progress. He knows he needs to lose weight. But that's a part of the maturity of a player knowing what it takes to be successful; is knowing that things like that, being 10, 12, 15 pounds overweight, may not affect you ability to play, but it may affect your ability to sustain your performance over time and be able to play as well in the fourth quarter as you did in the first quarter because you have extra weight and are not in as good a condition and not as efficient and effective."
