MANUEL NOT WRIGHT YET FOR FINS

Contrary to Don Vito's report that Miami rookie defensive tackle Manuel Wright got some work with the ones this week, we're hearing that Wright has not yet taken the field in practice with the starting defense, and that Wright still isn't ready to play in the NFL.

"He's not a football player," said one league source. "He's more like a sumo wrestler."

Then again, many run-stopping, toilet-clogging interior defensive linemen fit that same description. But don't forget that Wright is still young, and that the Fins use of a fifth-rounder in next year's draft largely was an investment in the future.

Still, he ain't ready yet -- and Sheep Tit . . . we mean Tip Sheet . . . is flat-out wrong in reporting that Wright was practicing with Miami's starters.

PFT ??? Consider the source...if I remember the original article, the quote was from Wright himself...do you really think he would let a reporter quote him if he were not tellign the truth ???

I agree about the source being a lil whack... but PFT has gotten alot better recently. They have been ahead of the game with alot of stories...

Anyway... I just thought some people might be interested...

In the reports that Wright was practicing with the first team, wasnt he quoted saying that he was infact doing so?

http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/12828976.htm

''I got some reps with the first team today, so I'm thinking my time is coming, maybe even this week,'' Wright said Wednesday. ``I know the playbook now like it's the back of my hand. In practice today I didn't make any mistakes, so I think my chance is coming.''

This is from the Herald, link included. Im going to believe them for now but I guess we will find out soon enough.

from the ******* at PFT huh? so I guess this is BS.

Ummm... Wright himself was the one who said he had some snaps with the ones. PFT is wrong, unless wright is so dumb he doesn't know which group is first string.

Come on guys this report is from PFT. 90% OF THERE STUFF IS BS.:fire:

Yeah..I sent them another email asking about their "sources" and their credibility...but they have had a little less guessing and stirring up stuff than in the past...

This doesn't make any sense at all. Manny himself said that he was working with the first team. I guess PFT is trying to creat some ****.

The reporter can't just make up a quote from Manny like that. Herald is also more reliable the Miami Herald article seems to be about right with me.

Yeah the PFT source is off...

The earlier reporter A.Salguero said that he had slimed down and that Manny had "taken a few snaps", not that he has been practicing, with the 1st team D...

I know Armando is not a Dolphin homer, but he does attend pratices....

PFT isn't nearly as bad as people make them out to be. EVERYBODY gets stuff wrong. I mean, Jason Cole said earlier this spring that Damion McIntosh was promised by Saban that the Dolphins would not acquire another starting-caliber tackle when the team was renegotiating his contract. Yet Brett Tessler, who represents Damion, flat out disputed that assertion.

In this case, however, PFT's source is wrong. Manny himself stated he got some reps with the 1's.

And if I can find more sumo wrestlers with Manny's tremendous first step and anticipation, I'll gladly take them. That said, I doubt the source who commented has actually seen Manny Wright since preseason.
