The Dolphins have recently contacted several teams, offering Wright in trade, in what is an apparent attempt to divest from the AWOL player while also fulfilling his wish to be traded or released.
Miami officials began making calls to other teams Monday, with the Tennessee Titans among the teams they contacted. The Titans are struggling along the defensive line, with nearly half of their 14 linemen missing practice this week.
In what is bad news for the Dolphins, however, interest in Wright has been lukewarm at best. The Titans, unfazed by their need, told Miami they were not interested in Wright.

Ugly situation.

Seems Saban has taken the position that even with a change of heart, given the kid's undisciplined, and thus unpredictable nature, simply fails to meet the required psychological makeup for pro ball.
And probably the same logical assumption every other coach has made.

realistically, we wont see more than a 7th rounder, a conditional one at that.

i dont think anyone will be interested though...at this point i am going to have to say that if someone was willing to invest a 7th, we'd pull the trigger

I agree that Manny just doesn't have the mental makeup to survive in the NFL. Trade him for whatever we can get for him and let him be some other teams problem. The dumb fool doesn't even want to take counseling etc. that the Dolphins have tried to help him with. Even his agent has said that the Dolphins have bent over backwards to help Manny. So he doesn't want help, then SCREW HIM!!!!!

He is not even worth a Pop Warner player. Either the Dolphins are stuck with him, or they are going to have to cut him. I don't even see Miami getting a 7th rounder for him. I know that if I were a GM I wouldn't take him.

How about trading him to Detroit for Charles Rodgers? Saban used to coach Rodgers when he was good. both may end up getting cut anyway.

Wright is signed through 2008 at $310k... his signing bonus was less than $50k last season... obviously he spent it on an SUV... in which he will soon be living...

Dolphins have grounds to keep him under contract yet not pay if push comes to shove.... if they can't deal the lost soul, that may happen.... because the kid is not NFL ready... and may never be...

Except that you wouldn't want to take Rodgers contract back, and there's no reason to think he'd accept a large pay cut.

Manny Has ZERO Trade value...

Even with His Family coming to Fla to help him and tell him to come back....where is he now almost 3 weeks later?????.....a LOST Cause....

yo, i think rogers cap number is abdurd... restructure his deal, let him prove he wants to play foosball, then pull it.. otherwise were gonna lose on this one,.

The NFL is no place for a crybaby, ergo Manny Wright has no future there. Almost everybody who's human has suffered from some degree of depression at one point or another. Most of us don't have the luxury of being quitters and just walking away from our jobs because we feel like it.
