What is it that everyone is so mad about? That Nick wanted out of this job, so he left? He tried to do it in a discreet manner, but it ended up sort of blowing up in his face, but so what.

How about this, I'll give you some reasons to be mad at him that are much worst than this whole lying thing:

1. Be mad that he picked Duante Culpepper over Drew Brees
2. Be mad that he screwed up handling Duante's injury and basically blew the first 6 games of the season.
3. Be mad that he drafted Jason Allen when he could have drafted a bigger need like Left tackle for example. Anyone familiar with that chap starting for the Chargers this year as a rookie who we could've had?
4. Be mad that he can't throw a challenge flag
5. Be mad for the stupid calls that he made during some of the games
6. Be mad that he didn't live up to expectations and even worst that he is a coward who isn't man enough to finish the job, a quitter.

But, be mad that he wanted to leave the Dolphins and had to lie because there were a few games still left in the season?

Hell no, be happy that he's out of here, good riddance I say! He was not what we hoped, he's simply not good enough for this team, so no loss there.

Read my posts since week two. I was mad about all of those things.

I am not mad at Nick at all now. I am happy he is gone.

:yeahthat:

All Nick had to say was..."Im not going to discuss another job opportunity until after the season" or "Im not going to discuss this matter with the press". Instead, he bold faced lied and said he is not going to be the Alabama coach. He could have easily saved face by facing the press in Miami and answered some questions. He is slime.

typical fans with the mentalitaly of what have you done lately for me, which is always the case but saban took this 4-12 team and made it 9-7 and so he had a step back, we still had no qb this whole time, our wr's were subpar and our defense has been great as always, i plan the front office bringing in defensive guru, we need someone with the mind for an offense. thats the case.

but nick left for a better situation, he belongs in college and dont give me this bring pete carroll here crap cuz thats awful.

You miss my point. What I'm trying to say is that is that worst than the other reasons that I mentioned above that directly contributed to us sucking this year?

Yeah, but who's fault is it we didn't have a QB this whole time? This is my point, there are many good reasons to be mad at him that have nothing to do with this whole Alabama business and when you add them all up, you realize that there is actually no reason to be mad that he's gone, in fact, quite the contrary, he didn't get it done...

Look, its all water under the bridge...if he had stayed, had a winning season, then even the reasons you state would not be reasons to be mad...that's is part of making decisions...no everything turns your way.

In the end, he made an unpopular decision, but made it. I would have had less respect for him had he stayed just as a "moral obligation", when his heart is not in it.

EVERYONE in this fricking world runs across situations like this...

For what is worth, here is an article on an interview he had after the Alabame press conference where he talks about his motives.

Lets put this to rest, once and for all...what is anyone gaining by continuing to hash this out ?

Saban made an honest attempt to get a franchise QB. Everyone was going crazy and loved him when we got Daunte Culpepper...

i agree, saban did a lot of dumb things, but going culpepper was not entirely his fault. Brees was surrounded by talent those couple years he succeeded in SD. Mind you, i'm not a culpepper supporter by any means but he had an injured knee, and brees had an injured throwing shoulder and was asking for more money. how was saban or any of us supposed to know drew brees would come out unscathed from an injury to his throwing shoulder and put up MVP numbers? thats just bad luck and i don't see how you can put ALL the blame on saban for going for DC over brees.

no, no, no. Had he done that the rumors would have persisted. I think, he thought by coming out and absolutely saying he wasnt going to be the alabama coach, he figured that would completely shut down the rumors, and not be a distraction the rest of the season... unfortunately due to the media's fascination with it and alabama's continual persuit... they never died. I think he did the "right" thing.

btw.. the original post. I agree 110% good post

i want to get even with him, the low life liar, i hope all parents see what he really is and never send their kids to alabama
