Honestly the NFL has had a horrible year overall.
They have rescinded 2 fines. . . How do u look at tape, view the action as a fine . . . and then take the fine back? I mean how stupid do u have to be to realize the hit/action was never fine worthy to begin with. The Justin Tuck hit comes to mind, perfectly legal, but they fined him and took it back. Why even give Tuck negative press like that, he was playing football . . .Goodell has to realize that this is a contact sport.
They blew the call with San Diego and Denver, and that more than likely costs San Diego a playoff spot (obviously their horrible play doesn't merrit a playoff spot, but still the refs blew the game and they would only be one game out of first place . . . and they still play Denver again.)
The Crowder/Light incident was a complete joke . . . I don't care what Channing said, trash talk is part of football . . . I played football in high school and defensive players by FARR talk the most trash in football, especially DE's, DT's and LB's. Crowder didn't do anything . . . even if he shoved . . . shoving happens every game . . . Light grabbed Channings hair and punched him in back of the head and Channing ran out of there instead of punching back. They both get tossed and they both get the same fine . . . what an example.
But to me, the fact that certain endzone celebrations get fined the same has Matt Light punching someone in the back of the head is just insane. Ronnie did the cupid shuffle. . . got fined 10 grand (hell 2 linemen did it with him, to fined 10 grand a piece also, so 30 grand total). . . Matt Light punch you several times in back of the head . . . 15 grand and no suspension. Wow Roger, way to go, moron. Endzone celebrations is part of the NFL, and should be allowed . . . its fun. I'm sure kids in youth football saw the Light/Crowder incident and saw that baby fine and probably think they can get away with it in their league and just get tossed from the game but play again the following week. Just a horrible year from the league and the officials.
