Does any move make people happy? It was all about "Fireland", he is gone. Now we get a new GM and its still not enough? Guy hasn't even made one move yet for the organization. As for filling seats? Put a winning product on the field.. That fills seats. Not a GM. SMH
I think it's just general disgust with the operation of the organization and the revelation of how much power Aponte truly has. I'm sure there are a lot of duped fans that was hoping the dismissal of Ireland would hopefully imply the hiring a credibility and instant change. Understanding how much control Aponte reportedly has seemingly shifts Ireland's recent history to the back page. And we now have a new source of front page embarrassment.
Say what you will about what is right or wrong in today's PC world but I can't imagine the Miami Dolphins have much respect as an organization among owners, players, coaches and front office personnel in the NFL. The candidates that were interviewed will reveal information about our organizational structure and decision making that will take nothing short of a complete house cleaning and new ownership to wipe the stench off.
This has nothing to do with being fans. We now have a dysfunctional label. And it will hold substance when interview stories get passed around from one professional to another. We've made a mockery of ourselves.
Ross bases his business decisions on loyalties and politically correctness while utilizing an old school slow-to-react methodology that will never allow for a cohesive and unified football operation. Ross was looking for a "piece" to fit within his organization. He has manipulated his organization to bend over backwards for Dawn. By placing a person with no talent evaluation skills in charge of the GM with final authority, no decision will ever be based on football needs. They will be based on Dawn's opinion and model for the team. A model built without actual football knowledge or insight into coaching schemes or team chemistry. It's merely a numbers problem for her.
Dawn has leveraged herself into a coveted role in which she can now jump into the NFL offices now that her resume is complete. But we will be the ones who suffer while she paves her career down the road she wants.
It no longer matters what is best for this team. We are now a tool in Dawn's life to get her what she wants.
Once again, we can thank Bill Parcells.
It truly doesn't matter what happens now, Dawn Aponte is running the team with complete autonomy. Until she gets her next job, we will never have football minds making football decisions about our football team.
You can't simply say things will work out. They won't until she is gone. Ross has turned this team into a toy investment that is mocking everyone who supports it.
It's safe to say, but each game this team wins will be because the players won despite ownership's own agenda.
We simply do not have football people in charge. Everything below suffers. It is disappointing to know the players on the field for the team I love have no help from above. And ultimately they can't win championships if the whole organization isn't on the same page.
The organizations that win, look at ownership, front office, coaches and players. Everyone is on the same page. The whole organization is on the field with those players. Organizations win SuperBowls. We don't have an organization.
