Tannehill is not good. Tannehill does NOTHING for our offense.

Ryan Tannehill is good at a couple of throws. I have stated this before but, many have remained in denial. He can throw a nice ball on those 7-15 yard stop routes along the sidelines. If the defense covers that and the little throws over the middle, in the short range to the slot guys, we can not move the ball at all.

To be effective at all, Ryan Tannehill needs optimum protection, good WRs with several win options, and a nice rushing attack. Even then, Tannehill is simply mediocre. Look at the last two Pats games at home. Last year we still only scored 24 points in Tannehill's best ever game. This year we put up 33, but we had a blocked punt to set up an easy one and the defense and rushing attack completely dominated the 2nd half.

Tannehill leaves points on the field each and every week. He misses layup throws that NFL QBs have to complete. We often settle for FG attempts when TDs shouldve been converted but, were not, only because Tannehill misses throws.

Tannehill's ball placement is horrible. Even on throws he completes over the middle, he often throws the ball in a spot that creates a tough catch and little to no opportunity for a receiver to make yardage after the catch. Those are times when he does not completely miss.

Tannehill is a sack taker. I dont care who plays on the OL. Unless the defense is completely dominated by our OL, Tannehill is going to take some sacks. He has zero pocket awareness and despite being a good athlete, has no idea of where to move in order to avoid rushers. Too many times he is sacked by a lone rusher that he sees coming right at him.

Tannehill completely handicaps our offense, coaching staff, defense, and entire team. His ability leaves the opposition with good field position and easy scoring opportunities while leaving our defense tired and exposed. His ability completely handcuffs the coaching staff in how they can attack the defense. His ability keeps WRs from making plays if he actually throws them a pass they can catch. His ability makes running lanes difficult for the RBs. His ability puts a ton of pressure on the OL to not make a single mistake.

Tannehill can not make plays unless everything is perfect for him. That is not the type of QB you can win big with. Perhaps you can have one great season with him if you get lucky and put together an incredible defense and avoid injuries at other spots.

Tannehill makes the opposing defenses jobs easy. He has no ability to attack anyone downfield, which congests everything and allows defenders to sit on routes.

I dont want to hear the countless excuses anymore. Philbin, Lazor, or anyone else involved with this team is simply not going to be able to have success so long as Tannehill is our QB. Tannehill is a coach killer. The least I can say for him is that at least he isnt like RG3 or someone who will throw others under the bus when the team fails because of his play.

Lazor will look no smarter than Mike Sherman with Tannehill as his QB. Sherman did the best he could in trying to mask Tannehill's deficiencies. There just arent plays you can call where Tannehill suddenly has ability that he does not have.

Finally, Matt Moore may not be a great QB, but he at least forces the defense to defend the entire field. He may turn the ball over here or there or take a 17 yard sack, but he will make plays as well. The truth is, Matt Moore is the best hope we have if we have any thoughts of competing for anything that matters this season. If the coaching staff would just realize that if they want to save their jobs, Moore is their only hope.

Tannehill will never be good. 31 games was enough for me. 33 is more than enough. We arent going to wake up one day and Tannehill suddenly possesses skills that he did not have before. He is a backup QB on his best day. He is a guy you do not want to start an entire season with. He just can not win enough games for you unless you have a loaded team.

Chad Henne was a better QB than Ryan Tannehill. They have some very similar characteristics as far as how they can attack the field, or cant attack the field.

This team needs a QB. It has needed a QB since 2001. It still needs a QB. There have been quite a few dolphins teams over the years that were good enough to compete for a title if they had just had a good QB. This team is certainly one of them. The OL is much better than last year. We have some good WRs. We have a real good defense. We just dont have a QB.

Said this same thing in another thread...he just can't lead anyone right...

If only this truly was your final word on these forums. If only....

I'm guessing this was typed up for the Patriots game but couldn't post it then because we won.

I wouldnt have to keep saying these things over and over if so many did not spend the last 9 months in denial.

Right now it's hard to debate the OP. Two games into his third season in a QB friendly offense and wee see the same problems with accuracy, holding the ball, etc. Not calling for Matt Moore by any means but the Dolphins need to start lining up a QB to draft in 2015. It has become clear that Ryan Tannehill will never be a starting caliber QB in the NFL.

Please just stop. Ummmmm didn't we kick crap out of pats last week. Um how did Matty Choke do this week. Ryan played bad first half but turned it on second half. We beat ourselves this week. WV like a tool

Big surprise that this thread is here. Blah Blah Blah....

He wasn't great....but our whole offense was eaten up by their D today. That was a horrific display of play calling and execution all the way around. Putrid!! Our D has split personalities.....

Nah. I typed it just now. But, to be real the same thing was basically typed in my season preview thread. Actually, the same thing was typed last year. I have been preaching the truth for a while. Wake up and accept it instead of trying to shoot the messenger. I deliver reality. Its what I do. Been doing it on this board for 9 years.

I couldve typed it last week. It still wouldve been true.

Yep. Ive seen a lot of people blaming the playcalling, but whats Lazor supposed to do? Tannehill's YPA was below 5. Horrendous. He poses zero threat to stretch the field vertically. Mike Wallace is beating the defense deep and our QB cant connect. Defenses dont even respect the threat anymore. When your QB can only throw 2 routes and you play a good defense, it gonna be a long day for Lazor and the offense. Sean Payton couldnt run a consistently good offense with Tannehill as he is.

I've been a huge Thill supporter, but it's becoming pretty clear that his lack of pocket awareness might be his down fall. Can't always expect a clean pocket to make plays. When a plays not there, he's gotta learn to throw it away or make a run for it.

We needed to draft a QB last season like I suggested when several good ones were available. Im afraid this year there are 3 busts that everyone will be hyping up as 1st rounders.

Actually, we shouldve drafted a QB when we had the 1st overall pick in 2008 instead of trying to build a team around a LT as if it were 1976.
