This Steve Ross is a clown. It becomes more apparent every day that this man's main concern is not winning football games, but putting on what he considers to be a "show" instead. Why didnt this guy just go into the movie business or start a wrestling company to battle with Vince McMahon or something?
First he totally botches the whole thing with Harbaugh during the offseason. And while I was all for getting Harbaugh from a football perspective, Ross simply wanted him for star power. The guy created a huge buzz in South Florida during Orange Bowl week, and Steve Ross having connections with Michigan got a hard on over it. He flies around the country trying to get Harbaugh to sign when it seemed Harbaugh had no interest in coming to the phins. So instead of replacing the FO and HC after all of this, he brings these clowns back because he has no clue what the **** else to do.
Ross simply dosent know football. He just chases stars. The whole concept of having celebrities own a couple of dollars worth of the team so that they show up to the stadium and sit in the boxes is a joke. The whole "party" atmosphere he tries to create is laughable. This guy views the games as just an event rather than a football contest between professional players.
The only real big move we have made on offense since Ross took over was bringing in Marshall. And we completely overpaid for a guy who Denver wanted to get rid of and who himself needed badly to get out of Denver because of what went down there. Granted, he is one of the most talented WRs in the league without question, his personal troubles dont warrant giving up 2 2nd round picks and a bunch of money.
You can just smell the stinch of Ross on the signing of the dancing queen and the trade for one of the many guys that Kim Kardashian gave herpes. These arent sound football moves. These are celebrity driven jokes. His lack of understanding that the NFL in itself is more popular than a lot of Hollywood bull**** is his downfall. You dont need to bring in stars and make the games like a giant outdoor party. You need to put a winning product on the field and the rest will take care of itself. The stadium will sell out and the fans will definately throw a party. Ross' greedy *** will be there to collect all the coin.
This whole franchise has gone straight downhill since the day the Robbie family sold it. If Ross dosent hire a smart football mind to control the whole operation its just going to get worse.
Now let me say a few things about Tony Moron.o. After reading the Columbo thread, a lot of homers seem to think its ok to sign a complete bum so long as its just a depth move. Let me throw a word of caution out there. Dont be shocked if this turns out to be a lot more than a depth move. What if Jake Long is actually hurt worse than we are being lead to believe and he has to start the season on the PUP list, missing the first 6 games. Guess whos going to start? You got it. The complete bum we just signed as "depth". Or what if they plan on cutting Carey if he dosent take a much bigger pay cut than he would probably like to? How do we know they didnt bring in Columbo thinking they can try and force Carey to restructure his deal down to almost nothing thinking they will just cut him if he dosent?
Im telling you these morons are really stupid enough to think Columbo could be a cheap answer for them at starting RT. If you dont believe that, then realize these are the same morons who traded a draft pick for ****ing McQueefstain and proceeded to START him. Think about that for a second. Heres a couple of players who couldnt cut it for Dallas last season. Realize that Dallas had a beastly front 7, a shaky secondary, a pretty good QB, and tons of talent at TE, RB, and WR, and yet they managed to start like 1-6 or something. And this was all with Romo in the lineup. In fact, they played almost .500 with Kitna in there. Why were they so bad? Well their secondary was a bit shaky, but the main culprit was THEIR OL. Dallas' OL was a ****ing disgrace. They pass blocked about as well a division II team would vs. Alabama. It was a joke. And Columbo was one of the absolute worst tackles in the entire league last season. Hell, McQueefstain couldnt even hack it and they traded him to us from the bottom of their depth chart. What a joke.
So dont tell me that Tony Moron.o dosent believe in Columbo. Trust me. He does. Hell, just look at some of the other moves this dip**** has made with the OL. The first year he starts by having a solid Tackle in place who was drafted in the first round to build with. Then they spend the #1 overall selection on LT. And if youre going to spend the first pick in the whole draft on a LT, Im sorry, but its kinda hard to miss. So he starts with two solid guys in place at LT and RT. We go on that season to actually have the best OL during his entire run so far as HC. Smiley was paid pretty big money to play one guard and he did a pretty solid job. Smiley was excellent at pulling. He was a big key to the wildcat. Grove did a decent job himself at C.
Since then, the interior OL has been a complete ****ing mess. We cut the two best players we had on the interior because we had the mighty OL genius and he thought he could coach up the guys who were on the bench from that season. Yea, that did us real well.
Its only gotten worse since then. Now we spend a first round pick on a C who had major problems with snap exchanges in college and most experts tend to believe he is better suited to play G. Who the **** spends a first round pick on a G? Ever? I will tell you who, Tony ****ing Sparano. **** a QB. Get more linemen. Unreal. And of course his stubborn *** is planning to start him at C from what we can tell so far. Pouncey seems to be excellent at pulling, which may be another reason he could be better at G. But, for all we know right now, he could damn well turn out to be a bust. Who knows?
Dont think these guys cant draft busts on the OL either? Look at Murphy and Jerry. Hell, throw in Thomas even though he started his rookie year he was cut afterwards. I notice a lot of posters penciling in Jerry to start at one of the guard spots. Why? What makes people think he is starting now after struggling to even stay on the roster last season? Its a ****ing joke really. But, lets not trade a 3rd round pick to get ourselves a competent QB. We will need that 3rd rounder to draft John Jerry.:rolleyes2:
These clowns wouldnt know what to do with a draft pick if someone else wrote on the cards for them. The commish gets tired of trying to read what they wrote in crayon when it comes to the podium. Everyone seems to think Incognito is a solid starter too. To me, hes a below average center and a below average G. He couldnt even hack it on St. Louis roster and their OL blew the year we got Incognito.
Over the last couple of seasons a lot of us have stated that Tony Moron.o is in over his head as a HC and is really just a good OL coach. Now, Im not so sure the ladder part of that statement is even true. Perhaps he just brown nosed the **** out of Parcells while in Dallas and it was Parcells who held that line together while there. Sparano brown nosed his way all the way to an NFL sideline as a HC. What a joke this guy is.
Yea, its got all the makings of another season with a completely inept offense folks. Unless we get Palmer or Orton in here to turn this thing around, we could be watching some really bad football.
