Wwpgmd?

That stands for What Would Previous General Managers Do?

Im in the middle of a HUGE blizzard and pretty much stuck in my house all day (thank god for Finheaven) So It got me too thinking, what if Mueller would have never been fired? Or Speilman? Wanny? And even ol' Jimmy Johnson? What would these guys have done with 40 million bucks to spend and the #1 pick?

Heres what your friend Fin-Omenal thinks those guys may have done:
(Obviously I cant go through the whole FA so I narrowed it down to a few big names they might target)

Mueller- I think he wouldve went after a couple of big namesin FA, I think he wouldve pursued Asante Samuels and Faneca pretty hard...Mueller loved the spotlight I think he wouldve been a major player for the "big names". When it comes to drafting this guy is among the best! Say what you want but last years draft looks like the best one we have had this decade, he is NO dummy and with the lack of a big time LT available in FA I say he wouldve drafted Jake Long T Michigan.

Speilman- The risk taker, I wouldnt have been shocked to see him make a BIG play for Moss at all, and I trhink he wouldve re-opened talks of a Chad Johnson trade, been a player for Shuan Roger's, maybe even would be in the works on a Pac-Man trade?? I have always thought Speilman was a decent talent evaluator, I have already expressed my anger of Wanny trumping him and picking Eddie Moore instead of A. Boldin. I think Glenn Dorsey DT LSU would make sense for Rick..a lil risky with a potential huge reward.

Wanny- I started this thread with the intention of keeping it "nice" not bashing any of these guys, but thinking about this guy TRUELY makes my blood boil!! Defense, defense, defense...he wouldve been after every big name defensive FA if you ask me, put it this way if there's a bad move to be made in free agency, I think he would make it. As far as the first pick...is their a QB coming out of Dartmouth this year?? Seriously though, after watching all the mocks and the NFL network I think it would be Chris Long DE Virgina.

J.Johnson- I like the way this guy operates I think he may have made a play at ONE of the "big names" but I think he would take the same approach as PArcells & Co. and kick back and wait for the draft to put HIS player's where HE wanted them. Im sure he would be wheeling and dealing to trade down but assuming he was stuck at 1 and his fetish for speed and power guy's, I think he would be in love with Vernon Gholston DE/OLB Ohio State.

BTW enjoy your 75 degree weather, your palm tree's, and driving around with your convertable tops down, you &^%$&*'S!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sounds as if you are a little upset my friend. Just take a shot or two or three and you will be as warm as the Florida folks.

Yea bro, I hate Ohio!! i was wanting to wait to put out my mock draft but truth is I could probobly finish the whole thing today!

You could spend the day spanking that one kid on Madden online all day buddy. Dont forget to use the phins on him.

As far as this thread goes, I never really thought much about what the past guys wouldve done. Other than I wish we still had JJ. Of course if we did we would never be in this situation. Personally I like Gholston better than anyone else except Ryan.

Snowing here too so Im stuck in all day.

 I wish that guy would play me!! I would play him with Miami for sure.

I know maybe a pointless thread, Im just trying to spark up an 8 hour conversation to pass the time:up:

I'm stranded in the snow today too.

Good thing I got a DVD copy of the Dolphins/Browns 1972 playoff game yesterday. Gonna' watch it in a little while.

Great entertainment during a blizzard!

It would be interesting to see JJ deal with Goodell's crackdowns on players who got on the wrong side of the law, as he never was too concerned with character (*ahem*CecilCollins*ahem*) issues.

I think last year's regime would target:
-Donte Stallworth
-Shane Olivea
-Lorenzo Neal

You can see what Spielman would do cause he's GM'in for Minny.
Wanny would try for 1 big name every couple years but fail to reel them in and keep all his veterans long past use.
Meuller would have overpaid more then the Jets for Faneca as he likes overpaying old guys.
J.J. would go mostly defense, tier 2 guys.

Shula would be all over the map.

McFadden - We need to get Dan a running game.
Jake Long - We need to protect Dan, plus we need a running game.
Chris Long - We need to keep Dan off the field.
Matt Ryan - What if something happens to Dan.

Im not sure why he traded down and missed out on Randy Moss, his talent was evident, he just had "character issues". I reallly wonder what our franchise would be like if we wouldve selected Moss...

Im not sure, but it would almost guarentee we wouldve never wasted our time in 06 with Culpepper. Quite a few less times I wouldve vomitted in my life.
