well, it appears several of the others we had interest in have said no or found other gigs or are just plain quiet.

my fav from the start was TOM GAMBLE, but he is out. but as things stand now, BRIAN XANDER is my favorite.

the thing i wanted most in a gm is being a top notch PERSONEL MAN and from what i read, he is just that. he just wants to prove it by having a job where he finally has say.

plus, he is a great family man, football guy and respected around the league. cant ask for better than that, especially after ireland!!

so, as things stand NOW, if you were choosing our GM today, who would YOU hire?

looks like its down to FARMER, THE GUY FROM THE GIANTS AND XANDER.
 
Are they...not quite as favoritie if their names are not capitalized?

I was also pro gamble from the beginning, but have realized that ship has sailed. I have moved on to xander. If we dont' hire him, I probably wont' be happy with who we hire.

So in less than 48 hours you go from ranting about what a huge mistake the Dolphins would be making if they hired Xanders to this? Why the sudden change?
 
Licht. He seems to have the most experience in evaluating talent. I like what he's done in Arizona.

With Xanders I think the organization needs to be very diligent in determining his contribution to the process in Denver. I'm also concerned that he was fired presumably due to an internal power struggle.

Licht comes across as someone with whom a collaborative relationship with Philbin and Ross can be relied upon. Some may say that the GM should have more power than the head coach. I'm stating my preference based upon how Ross defined the role in his own statement in which he emphasized talent evaluation and collaboration as the two most important criteria. Accordingly, by that definition, Licht would be my choice.
 
Denis Hickey from Tampa would be more new favorite choice. Good track record of college players drafted by Tampa.

WHAT post are you talking about? the ONLY post i made was NOTING HOW WELL HE IS THOUGHT OF AROUND THE NFL AFTER BEING BASHED BY A FEW WHO OFFERED NO PROOF!! i asked several times for links but got nothing in return.

all i did was post what i found after scouring the net for the bad stuff he supposedly has done and why he was not respected in the nfl like a couple guys said. i searched the net to see if there were scandals or disputes, firings, whatever and found none. so, i made a post saying what i found, ALL glowing reports from those who worked with him about how much he is RESPECTED and not hated in the nfl. that he was a stand up guy who would give you the shirt off his back. a thorough guy in scouting players. MUSIC TO MY EARS BECAUSE I LIKE THE GUY!! i just wanted to see if i was liking the wrong guy. i think more of him now than i EVER did before.

I have ALWAYS liked xander. i have NEVER made a post saying i didnt. GAMBLE was my top choice with xander close second. he is my RUNAWAY FAV now that gamble is out..

i'm the only guy that create a GOOD, POSITIVE POST about the character of a possible new gm for us and get wrote up and my post dumped. and then you come along and say i dont want him!!

i guess i would be wasting my breath asking you to ACTUALLY SHOW THE BOARD MY POST where i said i didnt want xander. if my post wasnt wrongfully yanked and locked i would have you go back and read THE ONLY ONE i made about xander in the last "48 hours".
 
My biggest fear with Ross is that they will wait to long and have to settle on who ever is left. Make a decision and go get your GM.
