Major props to both of them especially the rookie playing a hell of a opener with limited practice and pre-season action.

so much better then last years horrible duo of Brent Trip Grimes & Jamar Taylor.

both held there own today even tho on the last drive they let didn't call the offensive push off in Maxwell's benefit.

Xavien Howard looks promising best prospect we have had since Vontae Davis in a long time.

This should be good.

The secondary was more of a question mark than a hole. A lot of people were labeling it as a major weakness, but we didn't know how good the CBs would be. So far so good. I mean they weren't perfect, but many people expected them to get burned all game.

Yeah, but if Maxwell is covering his man tightly they do not convert that 4th and 4 at the end of the game and we win. Coulda used just one more decent play from him honestly.

Xavien Howard will develop into a fine corner for us. The guy is not a liability and he's a pretty good tackler.

If we can pick up a CB in next year's draft to displace McCain and a TE that can block, run routes, and catch, then we should be in a good spot going forward.

Howard did ok considering it was his first game but good god overall our corners are crap. When the pass rush wasnt totally dominant the seahawks can pull off any pass they wanted v our corners

Look what AJ Green did to Revis yesterday, just wait until he faces our group in a few weeks!

I wouldn't put it quite this negatively as I thought there were a lot of good plays from our corners. But our DBs benefitted from our dline feasting on a very callow oline. They won't always have it so easy and that showed in the 4th quarter, when we gave up a number of easy completions.

I think it's the biggest weakness on the team. I'm not a Brent/Miko Grimes or Taylor fan either but not sure we upgraded crap just yet.

On a side note Miko must be in her glory after Winstons 4 TD passes yesterday .

The offensive player got away with a major offensive interference on that play, but Maxwell should have been better. Maxwell is a good tackler that gets beat. That is a significant improvement over both corners from last year. Howard was not burned, but he did not impress during his first game except he did not miss any big tackles. That is not surprising from a rookie.

I disagree. The corners are a weakness, but you have really overstated their lack of quality.
