He is picking up in camp were he left off last season. I think we have a future All-Pro in the defensive backfield. Maybe a bit of exaggeration, but I am excited. Please God, lock this guy up a year early and do not let him get to FA.

I knew he was going to be good when during his rookie year Brandon Marshall on the jets called him our best cover corner. Meaning it was all ready showing up in film back then. He was the 3rd rated corner the last half of last season too.

Knowing us we'll probably wait til the last minute to try and lock him up - then lose him in free agency

God I loved Surtain, one of my first favorite Dolphins. Let's hope.

...and Madison was overrated, couldn't resist. I'll see myself out now.
I don't think Madison was overatted but SIR-TAN was better for sure.

It’s pretty crazy how time has seemingly made people forget that that late 90’s-early 2000’s defense **** themselves in every big spot they were ever in.

I wholeheartedly agree and do indeed remember. Maybe Wanny's scheme was too simple for good offenses. Those defenses would absolutely FEAST on bad offenses. Wasn't it said Wanny's defense was pretty much mine are better than yours? Maybe the talent wasn't enough for big games.

I remember in 1999 we were the #1 defense for a little while early on and were facing the Rams (#1 offense) and they absolutely lit our defense up like a Christmas tree.

Good to hear, he Def seems to be heading in the right direction. Will Tankersley be the other starter do we think? Really liked what I saw of him last season though it's not always easy to follow how individual players are doing from across the pond (tho hopefully that changes now I've found this place!)

A good secondary and a good pass rush will win you a lot of games. If the offense can put up points and take early leads, the defense doesn’t have to worry as much about teams running it down their throats

Tankersley, Lippett and McTyer are competing for the other spot. As odd as it is saying this, I think Mctyer is in the lead.
