I agree with you. The conventional wisdom is to blitz the overmatched QBs and drop and defend vs. the top caliber QBs. Delhomme is in his prime, has a lifetime 7.2+ yards per attpempt and IMO definitely fits the latter category. I thought we would drop 7 or 8 the entire game.

It's terrific the offense has stepped up in this game. As I posted last Sunday, Carolina has scored 20+ points in 12 straight games. The pressure was on the offense this week and they have provided. This game is already over the total.

I love the blitz, the problem is that we aren't gettiong to the QB...we are just a hair too late....

It can't be costing us the game when we have a 4 point lead.....I do agree though they have burned us on a few of our blitzes.

We aren't getting ANY pressure at all with just the normal pass rush. They are throwing some blitzes in to try to disrupt their offensive rythm but they are picking it up and hitting us with big plays. Our front needs...no HAS to get better pressure so we don't have to blitz. Carolina's o-line isn't that great either.

Plus they're reading the blitzes VERY well and shortening their routes in response. And if the blitz rarely gets to the QB to at least affect the throw, we're gonna die by the blitz.
