yahoo article about zimmer-wish we got him!

when did I say I knew anyone? That's your grossly twisted interpretation of what I actually said.

So in other words you know very little about what others in the league think of Jeff Ireland besides what some radio jocks uttered as their opinion?

We have slammed the FO for not hiring Zimmer because of his "bluntness" but when I take a deep breath and think about it, Zimmer has been a DC for Cincinnati for 4 seasons. This article describes him as the top assistant in 2009. If Zimmer is such a catch, why hasn't anyone hired him yet? Not defending the FO's decision but just thinking out loud. Perhaps Zimmer is the defensive example of Billick where Zimmer for whatever reason rubs people the wrong way? Don't know just trying to put some sense to it all.

Lets examine some of the coaches hired since 2009:

Raheem Morris, Josh McDaniels, Todd Haley, Eric Mangini, Steve Spagnuolo, Tom Cable, Hue Jackson, Leslie Fazier, Rex Ryan, Jim Schwartz, Pat Shurmur, Mike Shanahan, Jason Garrett, and Chan Gailey.

Those are just off the top of my head. Other then Shwartz, can anyone sit here and say that hiring those guys over giving Zimmer a chance was a good thing? Zimmer is a good coach who has been interviewed more then a few times. If teams are hiring other coaches, its not like those owners have been nailing it.
Everyone who has worked with Zimmer(save for possible Bobby Petrino) has had glowing reviews about the man. He gets results on a team not known for getting results. He will get his chance, even if being "honest" is somehow considered a negative.

You made the false accusation that I "knew" people. I merely stated what others thought. You asked for some semblance of proof and I provided that, but apparently you want me to delve further and provide more proof so you can dismiss it as being insignificant because it came from a sports jock? Would you prefer I get the weathermans input? Would that suffice?

They were talking on the radio station 790 this morning saying Ireland should have been let go, so apparently it isn't just my opinion as you say. So you have to have a major ego to be successful?! What a blatant joke....plus you just confirmed my original sentiments by implying that the man is egotistical, so thanks

I think all GM's, Owners and Coaches have ego issues. If they didn't they wouldn't be where they are. Polian one of the best, lost his job recently, had a huge ego. He actually thought his son would be as successful as him in his old post.

And radio personalities matter only if you consider them experts. Where's Chowder now days? Do you get your information from him?

No just point us to the news article that names sources. Not a opinion.

I could have sworn I said people around the league said, so wouldn't that qualify as their opinion as well? Anything that gives their view is an opinion correct? I don't have the time to sit around and browse the Internet all day long to satisfy your insatiable and adamant request for information. It's tedious and frankly I have to return to work so I can one day become so successful that my ego consumes me

We do need a yes man and thats all thats to it. If they r not on the same page then we wont be getting any wins.
I hope they get who they want and not who we want. GO PHINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
