yay, Daniel

I wonder what the corresponding roster moves will be.

I think IRing Fede is must at this point. Seamster could go too. Who will be the other guy?

Can someone explain to me why Miller cannot catch, when he dropped 1 pass last year and 1 this year? Also, why he cannot block, when he was #7 of all RB's in the NFL last year in pass protect?

Are you using a different standard than fact or, did not watch him play and want to jump on what others have mistakenly posted?

I don't care what his pass protect ranking was on some website. He was terrible as a pass blocker. So was Daniel Thomas.

Forget ranking. He was in pass protect 133 times and gave up 2 sack and 1 hit, this year nothing. Fact, not opinion.

The team needs the Daniel Thomas that balled against Pittsburgh.

This is what I expect from people who watch stat lines a third of his yards were racked up on that waste of a drive before the half. No vision, no burst, not breaking tackles, no threat to make it to second level, terrible pass blocking, and nothing special receiving out of the back field.

Stat lines are additional support for me. I go to every game (including preseason) and watch every away game. Yes, I do see the games.

I find it ironic that you of all people giving Tannehill all the credit in the world, deflecting the blame for anything Tannehill towards other players yet rag on other players for a missed tackle here and there, a dropped pass here and there...ironic...yet so fitting.

No no no I am not giving Tannehill any credit, you are misreading that! My point on Miller/Thomas is they don't bring impact plays to the table. For Miller it is head scratching because he should be that change of pace quick hitter out of the backfield and to date hasn't been. I am not saying Miller is a bad back by any means. But Thomas is terrible and I will stand by that.

As far as Tannehill I don't know what you read from me that makes you think I give him every benefit of doubt? That's not the case, his play this year has been below average to bad, I see it as mental with him and by the end of the game he was trying to aim the ball and force it.

You cant just look at how many times he was in "pass protection"....because many of those times he didnt take on a blocker 1v1. Standing in the backfield and counting to 3 mississippi, then chipping a rusher before you break into a checkdown route is not what most people call "pass protection".

Daniel Thomas makes sense regardless of the displeasure he causes everyone on this site. He knows the system and a veteran of some sort is needed at this point.

Ever try to get you shoe back from your dog by showing him his favorite toy bone and throwing it in the corner?

Thomas is the bone and some fans are the dog. They will take their teeth out of Tannehill and Miller and run straight after Thomas.

Maybe I confused you with someone else on the Tannehill issue. My apologies.
We do agree on Thomas.

Lamar Miller is not a blocker. He is too small for that. His job is to guide the defender around that pocket rather than straight forward blocking. It usually should give a QB enough time to either complete a pass or step forward in the pocket. The other scheme for Miller in blocking is when he is used as a pass catching RB. He briefly engages and let's the defender go (or by-passes him completely) and moves either to the outside or passed the line of scrimmage. Tannehill does not even see him most of the time. When you are sitting in the stadium and you see Miller wide open yet Tannehill fails to throw the pass it makes me vomit every time.

Miller will never be a blocker like a guard, FB or tight end.

Miller is also not a pounding back. Never has been. He is fast and has a knack for finding the holes when he takes the hand off out of the shotgun formation. It gives him the opportunity to look for holes. He always excelled that way at UM and with the Dolphins. If Tannehill is under center and Miller takes a hand off he has to go through the middle. By the he takes the hand off he is already halfway to the line of scrimmage. That's not his game. In college he was able to stop and turn to the outside. In the NFL you can't do that. Miller is a great change of pace back and to give a starting RB a break.
