Yea or nay to Morgan Moses at 19?

My biggest issue is that Moses is clearly not the BPA at 19.

He will not be BPA at any point in the first round.

If hell or high water it's either taking Moses in the first at 19/first round trade down, or not getting him at all....pass.

I'd rather target Bitino or Turner in the second round. Maybe Mewhort as well.

Surprise pick will be Juwan James also.

The draft is about value, and you're getting robbed if you pick Morgan Moses at 19. It would be a text book example of a reach. Like I said, obviously I would have several other options on my big board but Plan A for me would be drafting ILB CJ Mosley with the 19th pick, and trading up just inside the early 2nd round for OT Morgan Moses. It's a big gamble, but great value if it pays off.

the draft is about getting the players you need at the positions you are weak. if he plays well for you then its value

If you want to go the way of this decade's Cleveland Browns, Oakland Raiders, Jacksonville Jaguars, etc. I guess that is the way to go. I would head into the draft with the philosophy of targeting 80% BPA, 20% need. CJ Mosley fits both for us if he slides to the 19th pick, even though OT/OG is more of a need. If your scouting team says Mosley is the best value pick at the selection out of any offensive linemen, you hit on Mosley every single time.

Providing he checks out medically, I like Mosley, too. If we do take Moses at #19 it will be telling because he played for Lazor. That alone would give me more confidence in the pick. However, I still have my doubts on whether Moses is athletic enough for a NFL caliber ZBS. So far this off-season it looks like we are trying to remedy the square peg in a round hole situation with our OL by signing more athletic O-linemen. I hope we continue that trend in the draft.

why was 2012 his last snaps at RT? Did he get hurt?

With 58 sacks and a decent record, its obvious our OL ruined our season. Im all for spending our first 4-5 picks on OL. Fix this crap, NOW.

He switched to LT in 2013.

I would be hesitant in drafting Moses at #19 because he has had weight issues in the past. I think after dealing with Vernon Carey and John Jerry in the past we would try to stay away from players like that.

I'm not as high on Mosley, but I agree with the thought process.

Take BPA. Then u can trade up or snag someone else. I'm not down for reaching anymore.
Now we need to hit on our picks. But passing on a Talent is never wise.

if we take Moses at 19, it might be a reach now, but he could possibly be a top 20 player from this draft 3 years from now....Miami possible thinking there

You guys stuck on the first round? I would select him if I could move back maybe to 23-25 and gain a 3rd or 4th, but this guy is talented. you guys are worried about kipper and Mcshay draft grades lol.

It's about the talent you're missing by reaching for a need. You're going to have a hard time finding Moses on anyone's top 32 - let alone top 20. So you're missing out on players that are (just about) unanimously better and more talented. If you draft to fill needs, it stunts the growth of your team.
