Yeah, 60 years ago it was called LEADERSHIP

Sixty years ago, George Patton, the best general the United States had on the ground in Europe, was disciplined and essentially removed from command for slapping a soldier he thought was a coward.

That was outrageous. Allied soldiers died in that war due to politicking of commands. Right now we're talking about football, and about the livelihoods of men who get paid millions of dollars.

This whole situation is overblown nonsense.

Totally agree--this stuff happens EVERY DAY in the Marine Corps. We have become a totally pussified country. I'm really proud of Jimmy and Ditka for telling it like it is today. This is not a friggin workplace ESPN! It's a gd locker room. After watching Richie today I'm even more convinced that the Dolphins want to scapegoat him to CYA themselves, but good for Richie, he's not squealin. At least so far. I hope we beat the living crap out of the Succaneers tomorrow night to show the whole world how really wacked our locker room is--NOT. Free Richie!

I also heard Ditka and was impressed with his take on this bull****. Then the nanny's came on and took the side of political correctness and the words "would you want your kid in that locker room" were uttered more than once.
I broke my latest rule this am and watched a little bit of Mike & Mike.

I looked at my wife and asker her if she ever worked on a construction site? Of course she said no. These so-called announcers and commentators are supposed to have real life experience in this game. But they cannot accept the fact this type of language and other obscene gestures and thinking goes on in many places other than a football locker room.
I have worked with guys that make Richie's comments nothing more than a "good morning" in many circles.

Spend a few days on a large construction site and listen to the iron workers. They can even embarrass me. That is very hard to do.

Do you know what Charles Haley used to do in the locker room?

Or, how Ray Rhodes used to address his team after a loss?

This whole thing is a joke. You could seriously write down how little kids curse at a playground and pass
that off as what is said in a locker room and those media clowns would have a field day.

This is really what Martin's father was banking on when he leaked that stuff.

He KNEW what he was doing.

Most of the talking heads that played previously are simply protecting themselves.

Did you happen to see Rachel Nichols show on CNN Saturday nite? She had a panel of Diamond Dallas Page (WWE), Dr. J (NBA HOF LEGEND) and Hill Harper (CSI NY).

The guys who have had to deal with the physicality of men sports, had a view that was completely different than the political activist there to talk about work place violence.

Dr.J ended the segment by saying, he hoped the whole thing would soon end. It was a NON story.

Pretty much. Michael Irvin stabbed a teammate in the neck. You think he is REALLY outraged by this?

Yeah. And Ditka being in any way outraged or offended..Well..Whatever.

I liked how "Dr D" David Shultz dealt with that reporter who said wrestling was "fake" :chuckle:
Want to see an unforgiving place? Try being backstage at a pro wrestling show.

DDP said as much.

I find all this talk about leadership so amusing. It's like some of these threads and wrung from the puppet strings of the national media.

When you really look at it. The locker room isn't lacking leadership per se. It's missing a ****ing psychic.

If Martin never acted like there was a problem, how are people to know? If Martin ever told anyone there was a problem how are people to take care of issues. From what I've seen, as soon as the Dolphins learned of the texts etc they took action and suspended Incognito.

This is all one giant joke. I've been working beside a guy for the past 12 years, and I can't tell you if he comes in one day pissed or depressed if it because of me, lack of money, **** at home or whatever. If I ask him and he says it's nothing, what am I supposed to do. FORCE him into therapy? Ridiculous.

The players aren't mindreaders. Martin had to ****ing SAY something.
